Fios vs. Cablevision. & Fios question

In the apt FH and I are renting it's already set up for cablevision. But the super said we can get Fios if we'd like installed. But he said they have to put some box inbetween 2 of our closets and it's gonna take up some room.

I currently have Fios at home home and love it and rather switch.. but not if it's gonna take up all my closet space!

thoughts?

11er crashing - we have Fios at home and dont have any issues with boxes taking up that much closet space.

I think they box they are talking about we have outside - and its really not that huge where it would take up half the closet (for example). So i wouldnt worry about that too much.

do you have the same box thing in your house/apt now?

how big are we talking?

Fios is AWESOME. I just made the switch. The box doesnt take up too much room and you can put things against it - the heat from the box isnt strong enough to damage whatever you have against it. That was my first concern and he reasssured me things can be rested against it (i.e. Christmas stuff)

I'm gonna walk around my house tonight to see where it is. I know I have some thing against the wall behind my comp but I don't know what that's for.. It's small..lol

We have fios and it doesn't take up much space at all. The box is a little bigger than a shoe box...nothing crazy so I think you will be fine!

Fios is definitely alot faster and we got more for our money with Fios. We also have had a lot less problems with Fios, knock on wood

Fios is soo much better then cable. It takes up no room in the closet but they have to put a box on the outside of your house. Your landlord is ok with it, so I would switch. It's better because it/s much cheaper, especially if you get a bundle and you get like over 300 channels, where with cable I'm lucky if I had 80.

Cablevision is a big B when it comes to channels. People lost food network for awhile and even basic cable channels. ugh.. I couldn't deal with that. I just like the diff. channels that fios provides (discover health etc) that cable doesn't.
I never had optonline but verizon service is fast even with my stupid slow comp.

The only reason we have cable is because FH and I are sports fanatics, we like to see them in HD. Verizon doesn't offer that.

HOWEVER

My internet & phone go out all the friggan time and cable jacks the price every year and there on demand is a joke.

If verizon ever gets the NY sports in HD, we're switching ASAP.

Thanks girls just curious....FH works for Cablevision so we get everything for free. I can't complain...plus if I have any issues they are resolved immediately. Trust me though...it's the only perk of the job!! And where we live, AKA the end of the earth....we don't have Fios anyway.
