thanks!!!

Re: Fire Island Bach Party
i have only been to fire island once, but all my friends go a lot so i hear ALLLLL about it lol
i think may 19th might be a BIT too early.... you have to remember that fire island is a big college hang out & everyone in college is probably just getting home at that time.... but like i said i've only been there once in the middle of the summer so i could be wrong!!! just offering my thoughts.....

I think that after Memorial Day weekend would be better. That's usually the big weekend, then after that everyone is around. I love Fire Island! We usually go to Davis Park b/c it's pretty quiet. Where are you going, Ocean Beach?

I think after Memorial Day is also better. This way, the season opens and there's more to do.

It also depends on what you're looking for. I went to a bachelorette party there September 16th last year - two weeks after labor day weekend, and there was still a good sized crowd - although a little older (later 20's and 30's - but that's our age group), and we had a great time. It wasn't as crazy as mid-July, but we also didn't want something overly packed and we were into the Fire Island thing 2-3 years ago, so we wouldn't really fit in as much with the college crowd.
However, if you're looking for the full on Ocean Beach experience wait until Memorial Day or later.

I wanted after Memorial day but we cannot get a date in June that works for everyone
So, I dont know what to do now.. I wanted something fun and casual, like going to the beach then dinner and out drinking... no bride paraphania.. just hanging out... any suggestions???

Re: Fire Island Bach Party
I'm doing Fire Island Memorial Day weekend for my bachelorette party ! My FH is going to Ocean City the same weekend for his bachelor party since he wanted the whole beach town vibe too. Hmmm it's tough to do the beaches before Memorial Day weekend unless you can hop on a plane. Maybe some sort of bar crawl in NYC or Hoboken, or go to the wineries out East & do dinner there.

Did you already book for Memorial Day weekend? Maybe we can do it that weekend too.. I just thought hotels and everything would be soo expensive that weekend! HMMM.. but, it might be a good idea!

Re: Fire Island Bach Party
We wound up booking a house which worked out to be cheaper. But I think the hotel prices were the same as other weekends (which is expensive to begin with) but you just need to stay a 3 night minimum for Memorial Day weekend as opposed to 2 nights for other weekends.

If youre not going for the whole crazy nightlife scene, then I think before Memorial day would be fine. Shares start before Memorial day, its just going to be less people and more of a mid 20's-30's crowd as opposed to college kids.

I have gone the last 2 years in a row for my birthday and it is May 29th. We have a blast there. It is now going to be my birthday tradition!

Re: Fire Island Bach Party
I had a house in FI, two summers in a row and it's pretty dead there around that time. Memorial Day weekend is the kick-off that's when all the summer shares start!
I wanted a FI B'Party too b/c I love it there so much but we decided to not go for it....& it was for the same weekend as you. Sorry.

The shares start earlier so the 'regulars' will be there but you'll be missing the night trippers which isn't such a bad thing. I think there will be a decent crowd and it will be fun.

I want to do my bachelorette party there too!!! its always a blast...!!! I think that time in May there might be just enough people to have a great time without it being crazy or crowded....
