Anyone go for one there? I don't want it to be very pricey.

i love fire island...used to rent a house there...and have seen many bachelorette parties there...It can def be pricey if you do not have a house to stay in...the few hotels on the island are pretty expensive...def a great time though

Re: fire island batchlorette party?
I've been to a few bach parties on FI. They were all at Ocean Beach. One of them was just for the night. We took an early Ferry, had dinner, drank and then took the 1 am ferry home. Lots of fun. Another one we stayed the weekend. The only problem is, if you stay in a hotel, most have 3 night minimums. We booked Friday to Monday, and most of us ended up leaving Sunday. Wasting one of the nights. It was pricey, but worth it. Its great to stay the weekend so you can enjoy the whole day at the beach and then not worry about rushing to take the 1 am ferry home.

Ocean Beach - Drinks are no more expensive than Manhattan!! Go for the Rocket Fuels - a drink that is the best and exclusive to Ocean Beach - Only thing is - if you are not staying there, the last ferry home is at 1:am - Unless you take a water taxi which is very very very pricy!! Great idea though - You could go somewhere else after 1!!!

We were thinking of renting a house. Not sure yet. Its either here or Dewey beach. Whichever is cheaper.

Re: fire island batchlorette party?
i went to a bachelorette weekend in Fire Island in August for my FSIL. We stayed at the Palms Hotel in Ocean Beach. The rooms are small but BEAUTIFUL!!!! The hotel is sooo nice and clean and decorated so cute! They have a little backyard area with 2 barbeques and tables and chairs. It's the perfect location for a bachelorette party. Any questions, let me know. We went Fri-Sun.

Re: fire island batchlorette party?
I have been there for a bachelorette party and it was a great time!
Only problem...most hotels are hostels at best. That means tiny rooms, with shared bathrooms (yes...everyone on the floor shares the same bathroom/shower). They are by no means nice either. That Palms one does look nice but is very expensive.
Either way I had a great time and want to go there for my sisters bachelorette party but the 2 night min and price are holding us back. I feel bad making everyone shell out $$$ to stay in a dump.
FM me if you find details out about weekend homes, etc.

yeah it can get really costly...but someone else suggested going for the night...not a bad idea...some nights there are 'later' ferries...so you can go and spend the day at the beach, dinner, and bars...lots of fun and cheaper
