Re: Fire Island BP
I called a real estate place and they told me they dont do weekend rentals cuz they dont make much money on the fee. I will have to find one myself. Ive contacted a couple of owners and im waiting to hear back from them. Well...one told me 6000 for 3 nights lol
My bridesmaids would laugh in my face! But, ocean beach is the best place to look at right?Wish me luck!!

Re: Fire Island BP
Any help in how to find houses yourself would be greatly appreciated. I looked on Craigs List and saw nothing about weekend rentals. I am so frustrated. And I am getting no help from my BMs because they just don't get it, they don't know FI the way I do and think we should take over FH's house at Seaside on the NJ Shore.
But I can't complain about my BMs, they are working hard on my shower, or so I hear.

You have to do what makes you happy for your bach party and whoever wants to be there will come. I'm just looking for something that is affordable. I contacted some people from craigs list and they already called me back. They do weekend rentals, they just didn't have my dates available. Hope this helps. Dont get discouraged!!

Re: Fire Island BP
You def have to keep looking on craigslist. It is kinda illegal to do the weekend thing. Well...here is the thing....if you own the house you can do whatever you want with it...so renting for a weekend is not a big deal. But most people go for the weekend since they work all week. But there are some people who will rent the house for a summer...which is like $30,000...and then they themsekves turn around and rent out some weekends to make some money back. But this is a big no-no with the owners. I guess some people can get away with it...you just gotta keep looking. I will let you know if I hear/see ne thing!!

Re: Fire Island BP
I woundnt look in ocean beach to stay, look in sea view and ocean bay park, you can still walk to the bars in ocean beach. Too many rules and regulations in ocean beach.

Re: Fire Island BP
We're having mine there. I had my MOH's there last summer and we had the best time so I wanted mine there too! We stayed at the Fire Island Hotel in Ocean Bay Park. It's one of the only hotels on Fire Island with a pool. The rooms are great - they have a small kitchen area, 2 beds, a pull put couch, and a nice sized bathroom. You can easily get 6 girls in the room. It's costing about $200 per person for 3 nights (it's a minimum of 3 nights). It's down the block from the ferry. It's also right down the block from Flynn's which is a fun bar and reasonable for dinner and can accomodate a large group. The rest of the fun bars are in Ocean Beach. You can take a water taxi there or walk - it's a good 25 minute walk but everyone wears flip flops so its not bad at all. Plus it's more interesting when everyone's drunk! And all of the bars are right near each other once you get there.Welcome New Vendors
