Hi this is my first post, this is the future husband writing.
I was wondering how many people have had a fire truck @ their wedding. I cant really convince my fiance to let me have it there. We have agreed on a Limo Bus to take everyone from the church to the reception, I really like the fire truck to be there. The fire dept is a big part of my life and a lot of guys are close friends of mine it would be nice to incorporate them into the day somehow. I need advice on how to convince the FW..
Do you guys think that this is chessy?? Anybody else have on @ their wedding??

I believe I saw the firetruck in one of the '06 brides proofs as her husband was FDNY. They used it for photos and not to ride in. Could you try that?

I think this is a great idea!! My FBIL, when he got married, he was a fireman and his wife was an EMT. They had an antigue fire truck and an ambulance there to pose with for pictures and it was great because they took formal pics and then they had silly pics with people hanging off the truck and putting the groom on a stretcher, etc. And then for after the ceremony, they walked through an arch of axes which I thought was a great touch. So if you want to incorporate it, I think it would be a lot of fun!

an 06 bride, leese, did this. Her DH is in the fire department in NJ & her dad also but here in Seaford. She had the fire truck at church to take pictures on! It was a nice added touch! When they came out of church, the truck had their sirens & lights going. Here are two pictures

I know someone who did this a couple of years ago, and it was really cool to see. I think they even had water spraying...I think it is a cool idea.

I would do it! I agree it is a big part of your life and of who you are. I think it would be nice for the truck to be there.

My FH is a volunteer fireman and we are having the trucks at our wedding for the same reasons you want them there. Im used to this though because my entire family is in the department. It's not cheesy, it's nice. It is a nice way to include the department. It also makes for some nice, different pictures. How many people get to have a firetruck and a bunch of firemen in uniform at their wedding? I went to 2 weddings last year, both had the trucks. Including mine this year, their are 4 more weddings that will be having the trucks there. It's part of being a fireman. It's not going to hurt anyone by a truck parking in front of the Church. It's an honor. Good Luck!

FH is a vol fireman and we are having a fire truck at the church for some pics...I dont think its cheesy at all and it makes for some nice pics.

My friend had a fire truck at her reception. I was in the bridal party and we had to climb all over it for pics. It was cute.

Personally, I wouldn't have wanted one at our wedding but if DH was really into having one there I guess I would have compromised and had it there for some pictures and then that would have been it.

My DH and I are both heavily involved in our local ambulance dept. Instead of limos we used the ambulance to pick up the B/P and it looked awesome in pics!!! Go for it!!! Tell your Fiance to FM for any questions.

I think it is a great idea. I have been to weddings where they did this before, but the bride and groom did not rise in it. It was just there for pictures. But I really love that idea!

I would have loved it but my husband is in 112 (Bushwick) and theres no way I could have had it
My cousin was in the fire department and they werent invited to his wedding. Well long story short lightning hit the church and the fire department ended up coming. So they started taking pics on the truck afterwards and those are really the coolest pics in the bunch!
I say definately have them come!!

To answer the question - it was a request of both my dad and my husband. It was so important to the both of them. What else could you want?!
It looked fabulous and I love the one of them two standing in front - - my first fireman love and my forever fireman hubby.
It's not cheesey at all, in fact it's awesome. Nothing about public service is bad!

i say go for it!! If the FD is important to you...than it should be too your fiance as well!! Im not saying ride in it...but have it for pics or have the guys come in on it...whatever makes you happy!!
