people do 2nd dances? Whats a spotlight dance and when does that get done?

on Starlight Express' song sheet I had to fill out, they had '2nd song' so I assumed that meant whatever got played when the BP & guests came out on the floor. I was just calling it a spotlight dance b/c it was just me & him dancing solo again after the cake cutting and parent dances, it kind of threw us for a loop, we weren't expecting it, but it was a nice touch especially since we had a few drinks in us and were more relaxed than the 1st dance when everyone's really staring at you lol

i asked my DJ and this was is reply

'The spotlight dance is another dance for the bride and groom and it is to be done later in the night after cake and by themsleves. This works great for those brides and grooms that can't pick one song and want to have a special dance with their family and friends as well.'

I love that song, it has special meaning for FH and I as well!

Also, doesn't really make sense but it's our song....first song FH ever sang to me, makes me cry every time.
