So a couple of girls at work told me today that after FH and I do our first dance (well, before we finish it), we are supposed ot invite our BP up to dance with us and then the guests. I have an uneven BP. Do I have to have them come up separately and dance with one another, or can I just skip right to the guests? Anyone not doing the BP dance?
You dont necessarily have to do that. I plan on dancing the entire song with FH..inviting no one.
Someone told me that you can just have the DJ say (don't quote me on the exact wording!) The bride and groom ask their guest to join them in their first dance...and no mention of the BP or anything like that...I have an uneven BP too so this is what I am planning on doing!
We're dancing our first dance by ourselves, and then we will open the dance floor to everyone to dance (it will be a slow song).
Hey, it is your wedding, you do whatever you want, just tell the DJ what you want to do!
We are dancing most of the song with just us, then everyone can come onto the dance floor.
i'm not doing a BP dance. the last 2 weddings i was in the brides made us do a BP dance and i hated every minute of it. i find it to be very uncomfortable for the people involved.

we have a bridal party and we are inviting them to come up with their significant others or something like that!
you don't have to do that at all! DH and i danced the entire time ourselves and didn't invite the BP up at all. honestly, that moment on the dance floor was the best part of the day....and when we were dancing i just forgot about everyone else and only saw him...i didn't want to share the dance floor with anyone else!

One of only major requests to the DJ was that he NOT invite the BP or any other guests onto the dance floor during our first dance. We're dancing the entire song alone -- we really want to be able to savor that time because to be honest, the rest of the night you wont be able to dance to any song just the two of you.
Thanks ladies. I want to dance by ourselves as well. The girls were telling me I had to do it and I have the same mentality - it's my wedding and I don't have to do anything but enjoy myself and my FH.
