We are using 'I could not ask for more' by Edwin McCain. Everytime I hear it it makes me cry.

Re: First Dance Song

Our song is 'Anyone At All' by Carol King (it's the theme from You've Got Mail) and 'All I Ask of You' from Phantom of the Opera. I'm dancing with my dad to 'Daddy's Little Girl' and I'm thinking about 'My One True Friend' by Bette to dance with my Mom to.

Taraallisa- I am also using 'Could Not Ask For More'. The first time I heard that song about 3 years ago I was with my FI (but he was my boyfriend at that point) and I said if we get married one day, I want this to be our first dance. And now it is. We both loved the words so much. He played that song in the background the night he proposed. I know that was a little sappy, but I thought it would be cute to share!

I must admit thought that From This Moment was a very close runner up--that song is gorgeous!

Another vote for 'Could Not ask for More'. I actually first heard it on Days of our Lives of all places and did some research to find out what song it was. We LOVE the words and we both cry when we hear it. We're just sappy, I guess...

We plan to have our parents both dance to 'Because you Loved Me' to honor both sets of parents for all they have done for us.

What is a spotlight dance???

Re: First Dance Song

a spotlight dance is the 2nd dance the married couple has, you pick two wedding songs. one is for the first dance and the second later on is the spotlight dance.

Re: First Dance Song

too funny. we want 'i'll always be right there' by bryan adams but wonder if its TOO slow, so we were thinking about 'could not ask for more' also, because the words are the perfect song for a wedding. i am soo undecided!!! i still have 11 mos so......
