ok ladies we are alittle untraditional, at least I think we are, when it comes to this wedding. my fh is a rocker, he would kill me if I tried to get him to dance to some pop song. I like rock too so we r trying to find a rock love song for our first dance. nothing too old....so far I came up with 'nothing else matters' by metalica. I can't figure out how to put a you tube video up so u ladies can hear it bc I'm on my cell. so I'm wondering if you ladies have any suggestions.

then while I'm asking about music, my fmil passed away 4 yrs ago from breast cancer, I was wondering what people do for the groom in this case? she was an only child can't ask an aunt no grand ma either.....I thought about a memory sing like tears in heaven by eric Clapton and we dance together bc I loved her and very sad she won't be there too!

We're dancing to I'll Stand By You - Pretenders.

My FMIL is also deceased (as is mine). We are having a special table set up in memory of our mothers. On the table will be their pictures, a framed poem, a candle (similar to unity candle in size) and two roses. There will be a speech made in memory of our mothers and a toast.

I don't think you'd ever put a substitute in for a parent, but that's just me. A mother-son dance is exactly that.

On the other hand, having the DJ play a 'special song' for the two of you to dance to in memory of her would be sweet. (I'm using Edelweiss bec his mom was from Germany. We'll probably both bawl...)

What about Aerosmith - Don't want to miss a thing? It's still a rock song but mainstream too.

FH mother passed away when he was a kid so he is thinking of doing a dance with his sister. I think the memory dance is a nice way to remember her. I think that everyone will think it's sweet that you do it!

Our first dance is going to be Al Green - let's stay together. FH hasn't picked the song to dance with his sister yet.

I liked last night on earth by green day and tangled up together...gottahave fh listen to them. I also found a hohinder song buthe hates ththem I loved them. vppjzv omg in loving memory is such a beautiful sing! ty so much can't really to tell him about one!!

My husband's mom is not alive. He decided that he wanted to dance with my mom and they danced to My Wish by rascal flats

Yes for our first dance. Greenday is my favorite band and we wanted to choose something not everyone uses.

us too! I think nothing else matters by metallica is a good one but fh wants to keep looking and be sure.

We just went to a wedding where the groom's mom had passed away 6months prior. He danced with his aunt (mom's sister b/c that was his mom's request) to Leann Womack - I hope you Dance.

Rascal Flatts - My Wish is another option

oh my family would kill me with all those curses in here's to us..... which means my fh would love it! but I love it too it's so fitting to us as a couple!
