FH and I were thinking about using the Michael Buble song Everything as our first dance song. (It was one of 'our' songs when we first started dating, even though I told him it was cheesey then - I'm the worst! )
Anyway, I love the song, but I feel like it almost needs a dance to be choreographed to go with it. It's not a slow song you can kind of just sway along to, and FH and I are FAR from great dancers.
I was thinking about dance lessons, but I really don't see FH going for that. I dunno, do you think it's possible to just dance to normally? This is one of the few songs we've been able to agree on! Maybe I should sign up for Rock the Reception.

I think you could make it work- just pick up the pace of your feet a little! Add some simple spins... I took dance for 15 years though so what may seem easy to me might not be the case haha

that's a great song! Who cares what you look like dancing!! FH & I are terrible slow dancers, but i think we're going to be so into each other during that dance not noticing anything else so who cares what others may think! It's gonna be just you and him!

We're thinking about using that song too and I had the same thought but I really love it!!! I'm not sure about this but I wonder if my band can just play it a little slower?

We are using that song as our first dance too. It has a lot of special meaning to us too. I think it will be fine. I never even thought about it as being too fast for a slow dance. FH and I are considering dance lessons though.

I have a jazzy, swing-type song for my father/daughter dance and I'm excited to choreograph it. For a first dance, I still think it would be OK. I love that song!

you could always do a 2nd song to dance to
colbie callet does a cute version of kiss the girl from the little mermaid we may end up doing a 2nd dance to that

Your DJ can slow the BPM and no one will notice, talk to him, it is great, and it is the song you want!!! A fraction reduction makes the dancing easier . . . . . give it a shot.

You're so right, even just thinking about dancing to that song makes me happy... and I'd rather look like an idiot dancing to a fast song than a slow one!

Ohh I def think the band would be able to play it slower, that would be great! We're having a DJ so we don't have that option.

Really, I didn't even think about that as an option! That would be great – maybe even start it as slow and then get faster towards the middle so I’d only have to look like an idiot for half the song. Thanks!
