Hi ladies, tomorrow is our first day of pre-cana. Can you let me know what to expect?? Im getting nervous lol

My pre-cana isn't bad at all. It's us and 4 other couples plus the deacon and his wife (who are running the show). The first session we went around the room and introduced our FH or FW to everyone and told a little bit about them. It was really sweet to see how FH introduced me. Then we discussed family differences and how it's sometimes hard to blend into a new family. Then we tackled money. If you didn't want to reveal anything too personal you didn't have to.
We only meet for 2 hours at a time, and I have to tell you the time flies by.

We just finished our last in home session the other night; we were teary eyed to know that we will no longer see these people on Monday nights.
The first time we did a round robin as well to introduce ourselves. We then did the FOCCUS test. The second time we received the results of our test.
The next four times we met at a married couples house, along with another married couple and 2 other engaged couples.
It was really a great experience to listen to what they had to say, but to also here about their own experiences.

Honestly, FH and I actually ended up enjoying the Pre-Cana. It really depends on who is teaching it and they can make or break it. It ended up making us talk about things we never spoke about before and just able to talk about things we never thought to discuss... So it was a really positive and good experience. =)

And you talk about personal things in front of other people that you dont know? I feel like I wouldnt be confortable doing that...

Wish I could help, but Orthodox was a lot different than what I heard Catholic is like, and to be honest, I'm not sad at all we're not doing a Catholic ceremony because of it!

FOCCUS is a 153 question test where they ask all different questions....from parenting to financial situations to family situations.
Then they score you and FH (you take the test separately) to see how you compare with your answers.
Check this out for more details. Not every pre cana class does it.
Oh wow thats pretty cool!!! FH and I already know that I am going to be the tough one, and hes going to be the softy that the kids can get away with things lol

FH and I had out first session last night. It is us and 2 other couples with 2 host couples. We did the round robin intros. How we met, discussed communication (this weeks topic) and a fish bowl. We each picked out questions from a fish bowl and answered them. You can be as detailed or not as you would like. I think you get out of it what you put into it. I think I am going to like it. I like meeting new people that are going through some of the same situation we are.
