Have you thought about the Riviera in Brooklyn? It is in Coney Island and you can take pics on the Boardwalk or on the beach. It would be great for your guests since they are in Brooklyn. Giando on the Water is also a nice waterfront Brooklyn spot.

Gargiulos is another nice coney island spot for a wedding.

what if you just took pics inbetween your ceremony and reception at the robert moses lighthouse. A former coworker of mine did that and her pics were amazing!

i guess i have to sit down and figure something out. I havn't started going to see any RH yet, so maybe i should start there. I'm sure i'll work something out. Do u guys think its weird to have a beach theme wedding in a non beach location RH..?

No not at all. They have plenty of things you can do for the theme.

Some I have seen:

Shells as the place cards
Beach Themed Cake
Lighthouse candles.

So my fh proposed to me by a lighthouse on the beach and it was perfect. I wanted to incorporate that into the wedding and i fell in love with having my reception at the chelsea lighthouse in the city, when i called for a price range they said its 225$ per person for an August ,sat urday night wedding.. way over my budget.
I'm so dissapointed now and back to square one

What about the Montauk lighthouse??? Someone either on the 08 board or bhb board saw a wedding there today and said it was gorgeous!!!

Okay - I was wrong... here's the posting:

As some of you know- I am having my ceremony at the Fire Island Lighthouse. I was reconsidering and going back to having it in a church.

Today I went to the light house and a wedding was going on. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. The people decorated the walkway so nice with bows, the arch way was so pretty and everyone appeared to have a great time. The bridesmaids had beautiful dresses and the bride looked gorgeous!!

After seeing this today I am over my reconsidering the ceremony location. I CANT FREAKING WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR

Just needed to share my excitement

Another place you can consider that is near the water is Russo's On The Bay in Howard Beach. The price is slightly high but it's close to home and the place is beautiful. My sister almost got married there and I considered it myself but I wanted an outdoor ceremony.

Another one you can consider is Surf Club in New Rochelle, unless you think Westchester is a bit far for everyone.

u girls are so great. Actually my FH proposed to me in Montauk. It was so perfect., he ever wrote me poem (I'm a Creative Writing major) And we celebrated one of our aniversaries on Fire island and it was great too. I would love to have the ceremony at the Montauk lighthouse, but its like a 2 hr drive, way too far. But im def. going there to take some after wedding pics =)

Rosso on the bay is really close so im going to try and visit them. The new Rochelle place sounds nice to. I'll check what the drive is like.

I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend.
