I just got home from the ER with Annalise. This morning I had an accident while I was nursing her. I was drinking hot chocolate and it spilled on us. We went to the pediatrician and she sent us to to see a pediatric surgeon at Stonybrook ER. She has one second degree burn and a few small first degree ones. She is doing remarkably well. She cried when she first got burned. Whithin minutes of when had cold compresses on her she was fine. I cannot believe they are not bothering her. I am more upset about this than her. She has so much gauze wrapped around one leg that it looks like a cast. I will have to post pictures of this in her online album. We go back to the surgeon this week and hope there will be no skin discoloration permanently. Even if there is it's will only be noticable to me according to the dr. I had to do all this running around with her by myself since my husband is sick. Just one more patient to take car of. After the day I had I am ready for a stiff drink. I'll have to stick to water since I am nursing.

Victoria, I am so sorry to hear this! Are you okay?? You poor thing...as if us Moms don't beat ourselves up enough, to have an accident like that must be horrible! I hope Annalise is doing just fine...

Re: First ER visit with baby
When I was 7 months old I reached across the table and spilled my mom's hot coffee all over myself. My Mom and Aunt rushed me to the hospital where the doctor asked her lots of questions because he thought she did it on purpose! My Aunt flipped out on the guy. But I will tell you that I have NO memory of the burn. I am glad that you are both feeling better. Don't beat yourself up at all. Accidents happen to everyone of us.
