What is the earliest someone should schedule their first fitting? I have my first fitting on 4/29. Wedding is 7/11. Is that too soon? Or am I on track?

My seamstress told me 2 months before, so you seem to be right on track. Good luck!

First Fitting Question
My shop told me they normally schedule the first fitting a month before - but I gave them a fake date (6/14) in the first place in case the dress arrived late. So I am way ahead of the game by their standards, but 2-3 months has been what I've heard as the norm. Thanks

First Fitting Question
They say sometimes people loose a lot of weight at the end so they say to wait a little longer.

First Fitting Question
My dress lady had told me 2-3 months is standard. I went almost 3 months early but that's because I wanted to add sleeves so there was more work to be done.

First Fitting Question
My place told me 3 months, but I gave them a fake date because my dress is a sample and it's wayyy too big I'm afraid the work won't be completed in time! I'll be too anxious to eat weeks before the wedding anyways, haha!

First Fitting Question
I have my first fitting May 28th for my July 4th wedding, they suggested 5 weeks ahead for the first fitting, I'm happy with this because it gives me extra time to lose the last 10 lbs of weight lol

How far ahead or close to the wedding do you do a final fitting ?

First Fitting Question
I think it depends on what you think your body will do in that time. Do you gain/lose weight easy, or with stress? Then try to make them very close to your date. Have you been the same weight since high school? Start them soon to alleviate some of the end of planning stress.
Me, I had my first fitting a week ago. I am doing it now bc I live in North Carolina, but my dress lives in NY and I was there for the week. My second is May 17, and hopefully I won't need another, but if I do it'll be end of June.

First Fitting Question
My dress hasn't come in yet which is really annoying because I was told 6 weeks is when the first fitting should be. They keep telling me it's in transit but they said that for 2 weeks already.

Re: First Fitting Question
if you don't fluctuate in weight, i think the sooner the better. i don't fluctuate, and my dress was finished mid march for a may 23 wedding. but i know it's done and one less thing to worry about lol!

I was planning on getting my first fitting in September for my October wedding. Is this too late?

My first fitting is scheduled for June 4th - just under a month before my wedding. I'd rather do it closer to the actual date because I'll be closest to my wedding weight. I wouldn't want to go 3 months out because I could still lose a lot more weight - and I am still losing. So I think you're fine!

Agreed. My first fitting will be around a month before my wedding.

First Fitting Question
my first fitting was March 22nd and my second fitting is May 3rd - wedding is June 29th! So 3 months before :) I was happy with that.
