My sister was supposed to be there because she has her fitting before me and was going to stay to see me. We were going to go to dinner afterwards but I text her to tell her I have too much to do tonight so I can't do dinner. So she text me back that she's going to change her appt. because she has a lot to do as well and would rather get that stuff done so she won't be there for my fitting. My mother wasn't coming either because she doesn't like to drive in rush hour (my appt. is at 6:30).
So I'll be alone for my first fitting. Guess I'll have the girls there take pics of me. I'll post later.

Do you have any BMs or just friends that you can call? My mom and sister didn't go to mine. I was going to go alone with my daughter but FH got mad that his sister-n-laws (one being the BM) was not going with me, so the BM met me there. I went to the hair trial alone. Take someone with you if you can. Sorry you are going through this. You need to ask someone, don't assume people will do the right thing. That is what I did.

Why do mom's have to pick this time to rip us up? Don't let it get to you. call her and be the bigger person. My mom ripped me up for some unknown reason the day after my surgery and days before she was having the shower at her house. She called me a selfish, self-centered, uncaring b*tch. I wasn't sure where it came from but I went there for the shower anyway because I knew how much my sister and her put into it. It was hard, but maybe it stress that is getting to her.

I actually went in alone ahead of my first fitting under the guise of 'Can I see if this foundation garment is sufficient?' It will be pretty clear to you what needs to be done. Is it really that big a deal?

I don't have a bridal party, my sister is my MOH. I think a friend of mine may come. She just offered to. She's so sweet!
I'm just going thru a lot right now, which I'm sure tons of you can relate to. My monster-in-law has stressed me beyone belief so to hear my sister say she has a lot to do, kind've hurt.

When my dress came in there was nobody to go with me so I went by myself. I kind of liked going by myself. There will be other times when my MOH and BM's can go with me.

i went alone for my first fitting i didnt feel like 'bothering' anyone - i feel like thats all i do with this wedding. Id rather just do everything alone at this point...

I basically did everything alone as well, but I like it better that way. My mom came with me to get my dress, I went with my cousin to to DJ showcase, but other than that I flew solo.

Exactly, I feel like I'm a bother when it comes to wedding things and everyone. I've just been bummed out lately and stressed out so some company would be nice. My friend just e-mailed me and she's coming. She's awesome!

I took my mother to one of my fittings and I wished I hadn't. She spent the whole time showing me dresses SHE FELT would have made better choices. Sometimes it's better to go alone to cut out the 'background noise'
