First I thought it was kicks, then hiccups, but it's the heartbeat
Has anyone else felt the babies' heartbeat though your stomach - it's the weirdest thing and very pronounced.....feels like persistent kicks or hiccups but it's too fast for hiccups so I made my coworkers feel my belly and it's the heart beat....????

I've never felt that! It must be amazing. I do feel hiccups all the time, they are pretty fast and last for a few minutes.

I agree, this is very unlikey to actually feel the heartbeat, I'd say if you can feel the heartbeat through your stomach you should call your doc because the heartbeat should not be that pronounced. The hiccups are very quick. I always use to fear that the baby was having a seizure, but ioneday I had them while in with my doc and he verified that they were indeed hiccups

when the baby had the hiccups earlier on, they were at a normal rate. but now they are really fast....where your babies hiccups faster than the normal hiccups?

sometimes, it may also be little leg or arm movements, they like to stretch and bounce around, how far along are you?

Are the pulses you are feeling about 140-160 beats per minute?? If so then I would call your doc... otherwise in my professional opinion Id say hiccups.

I'm 31 weeks - the girls from work all agreed that it was too fast to be the hiccups. but think it's normal to feel the heartbeat since the baby is so big now and doesn't have a lot of room in there....i have a doctor's appt tomorrow and i'll definitely tell him then - although he'll probably think i'm crazy!

I'd even give the dr a call now. I have NEVER heard of being able to FEEL the heartbeat through your stomach, I think we would all LOVE that, we would feel so less stressed about not having a heartbeat at the next visit. Unless the baby;s chest was right against the inside of your belly, I just can't physically see how this could be possible, but I'm no doctor.

Maybe its your heartbeat? Maybe a vein or artery is being compressed??

Could this be YOUR heartbeat? I remember taking a shower when I was pregnant and seeing a pulsing right at the top of my stomach on the left (noticable esp. because of the water). It wasn't the baby's hiccups or heartbeat. Check your own pulse/heartbeat and see if it matches what you're feeling.
