14. I worked in my orthodontist's office seating patients, cleaning the tools, creating teeth molds etc...it was so much fun!
I did this for my aunt when she first started up her practice! I was the doofy teenager running her office and 'pretending' to be the assistant. I learned how to use the autoclave though.

Re: first job?
first job? hmm...
i babysat like a madwoman for years (12-15) and made a fortune [which i spent on clothes and makeup]. very lucrative.
my first 'real' job [taxes/irs] was at 17 as a hostess of a steakhouse. crappy pay, even crappier boss.

Re: first job?
My first job was working at a firm that copied, collated and shipped tax forms for CPA's. It was 1987 and I was a senior in high school. I remember my hourly pay was $10/hour. I worked 4pm - 12am plus all day on Saturday and Sunday - so I got double time and even triple time a few times. I was making more than any of my friends - but I didn't see any of my friends either! It was only for tax season though.. so after a couple of months I was turned back out into the world where I got a job at Consumer Distributing with the most awful managers ever. I got sick and they refused to let me leave early. It was my first week and I guess they thought I was faking. After cleaning up I went to wait for my dad outside and passed out in front of Grand Union justas he got there. My dad carried me to the car and then took a few moments to go and scream at the manager. I never went back.
