... is TODAY! Meeting with Kelly from Glam Me Up tonight for my first makeup trial!
Any tips/anything I should know/anything I should bring?
P.S. Of course I will post photos for everyone to see if I can figure out how to upload the pictures!

So the trial was..... AMAZING! She does fantastic work, she uses mostly MAC makeup which I love. The airbrushing doesn't even feel like theres anything on my face. She really tries to get a sense of you as an individual and what would fit not only your face but your personality. I TOTALLY recommend. I felt beautiful until...
the aftermath of the trial. I came home and the only thing my FH could mutter out was 'thats a lot of makeup on your face' with a look of disgust. Are you kidding me? He KNEW I was going to a makeup trial and that I was excited to come home and show him. I was hoping for the 'you look beautiful', but didnt get that. AND on top of that, I walked away clearly upset and he apologized to me but said he wasnt expecting me to wear that much makeup. I even told him that I was hoping he would say I look pretty or something AND HE STILL didnt say it. He just kept saying sorry.
I'm so so so so mad, upset, hurt. Maybe I'm being ridiculous or childish, but I was really hurt by that and I am literally sitting here in tears about it. (Sorry I wont be able to post any pictures)

I booked with her on the spot! She went to school with my brother. Tell her Yvonne says hi =). Bring a picture and let her know what you are looking for. I had a picture from my first make-up trial and I told her I loved the eyes but the lips were horrible so she showed me a bunch of colors for my lips. When she is done with your make-up tell her what you like and don't like and she can fix it up for you. and try the airbrushing it's amazing. P.S.Her dog Rocky is so cute

I was wondering the same thing. What is the airbrushing exactly?

The airbrushing doesn't feel 'caked' on. It doesn't even feel like you have foundation on. I also feel the coverage is so much better.

have you even seen those cake aking shows where they spray on the design. They use a similiar tool and the spray the foundation on your face. I had my trial in the morning and it lasted the whole day and night

okay thanks! That might be what I need, then, since I don't wear makeup/foundation I definitely don't want to be feeling the difference all day at my wedding

Aww I'm so sorry Mariana How insensitive of FH. I'm guessing you don't wear a lot of make up on a daily basis and maybe it was a shock for him to see all the make up on your face. But he has to realize this make up will have to last ALL DAY! Through getting ready, ceremony, pictures and through your whole reception. Plus you want the make up to show in photos. I'm sure the make up was beautiful and clearly you loved the way you looked. Hope your FH will come around.. don't get discouraged.

I agree with Jassy, you need a decent amount of makeup to last all day. I'm sure you looked beautiful with it all on, and I would absolutely talk to him ( maybe not right now) and tell him how hurt you felt..sometimes guys don't realize how they come across with comments, I think we have all gone through something similar. I'm sure your makeup looked beautiful and you looked beautiful, maybe try out a few other makeup artists and see how they come out too to make sure you love it. Keep your head up and if you need opinions just post some pics and I'm sure all us ladies can tell you how they look!!! smile ! xxo

Guys are soooo funny my FH hates when I pack on makeup also. Maybe find out what he likes and then go for Another trial run with his recommendations.

I agree! I got airbrushing done at an expo and it felt like she was blowing cool air on my face and it felt like I had nothing on!

Bobby said that for my 30th birthday at first but then as the night went on he said my face looked amazing. It shocks them at first...they're dudes and they are weird. I know it hurt but if he knew it would hurt you he wouldnt have said it and it was just a first reaction. I am sure he thinks you look amazing. You are so cute without makeup and he is just used to seeing you that way! xoxoxoxoxo

Awwww I'm sorry sweetie. Some guys can't see the bigger picture, hello you are going to be in a wedding dress and not jeans and a t-shirt so you have to glam it up a bit. Did you take any pics when you were at Kelly's house? and maybe go to another trial and see what he has to say about the next one.

Wow I really want to try airbrushing...
I'm sooooo sorry your FH was like that Guys really can't see the big picture, like everyone else was saying. You do what YOU love and with the dress, hair, etc, it will be beautiful.
