Are you staying at home or are you staying at a hotel??
FH and I are going to Block Island for 2 days before we drive x-country. We arent sure where we are going to stay the first night. What is everyone else doing??

Re: First night as husband and wife
Since FH and I don't live with each other. We will probably go back to our first home (whatever that may be). We have to leave for our HM the next day, so it's easier to just go home...

Re: First night as husband and wife
We are thinking about spending the night in a hotel suite or something like that...the thought of going home to our apartment and looking at my cats on my wedding night is just not appealing...

Re: First night as husband and wife
I vote for a hotel. We stayed at the same hotel that some family and out of town guests stayed at. We all went to the bar at the hotel for a few drinks together, and than had brunch together the next morning. It was nice to get to spend some more time with the out of town guests.

We stayed @ a hotel because we wanted a change of scenery for romance purposes. Our flight didn't leave for Europe until the following night so we actually checked out of the hotel & went home got our stuff & got picked up there.

Re: First night as husband and wife
What we're thinking of doing (depends on how we feel the day or two before) is, since our wedding will be over by 5 PM is have our bridal party over to our place for ANOTHER party. Then, after a few hours, send them packing so we can be alone. So, we'll be staying at our own place that night to count $$ and just be alone. We are prob going to be going on a 7 night Disney Cruise, and the boat doesn't leave for a few days after the wedding, so we'll have a few days alone before the thrill of the honeymoon.
Good Luck!!

Re: First night as husband and wife
Our HM doesn't officially start till a week after the wedding. So the weekend of the wedding, we are staying in a hotel. Coming home the night of the wedding doesn't sound too romantic for me.

Re: First night as husband and wife
We are going to be staying at our new place (either apartment or house). We leave for our honeymoon on Monday (our wedding is on a Saturday).

I'm probably doing what Gregslove is doing. Mine ends at 5:30 so maybe we'll have an after party with our close friends and relatives. (mainly for the friends) But id like to stay in a hotel

Re: First night as husband and wife
We are staying at the bridal suite at the Inn at fox hollow the night of and possibly the next night since we don't leave for HM till tuesday. I didn't want to come home to cat and dog on our wedding night plus I wanted it to be special.

Re: First night as husband and wife
We stayed at the Wyndam Wind Watch and it was really nice BUT that night I really just wanted to go home. We were leaving for Africa the next evening and we just felt being home as a married couple would be nice and would have saved us money. I am just one of those people who would rather be home than away anyday.
