FIRST TIME

I never though I'd say this but I just had my first BRIDEZILLA moment. It wasn't pretty.

Re: FIRST TIME

Here's what happened:

As of now, my church is at 3 and my CH starts at 5 - I thought this was enough time....However, I went to a wedding at my church this weekend that began at 3 and did not end till 5. I called the church to bump it up an hour to 2 - but they are booked at that time. So I called my parents to tell them that we are gonig to have to change the time of the CH and move it back to 6-ish - they don't want to because they feel that it will be too late for a Sunday wedding (as of now my CH/Rh is from 5-11:30). They suggested we look for another church which I don't want to do because i have wanted to get married at this chuch since i was a little girl....So, all of a sudden I found myself turning into one of those whining screaming girls who's carrying on and on about her wedding and how nothing is going right and how everything needs to be my way and.....So I stopped myself and got off the phone. Once I calm down, I'm sure this will all be resolved - but I really scared myself with my Bridezilla moment.

I would feel the same way though and probably done the same thing. Not a bad bridezilla moment. It could have been worse.

Thanks - I feel better

Now I just need to figure out what to do about this situation. I really don't see any option other than changing the time of the CH

We are having our Church at 2:30 and CH at 6. I don't think it's to late for a sunday. Ours in on a sunday also.

Re: FIRST TIME

awww..i am getting married on a sunday night as well and my cocktail hour starts at 6:30pm. I didnt find it too late because i figured who ever is going to come to my wedding will come at whatever time it is...So if you pushed it to 6 i dont thin kthat would be bad at all....

i've been there. the whining and crying and stomping my feet and everything.
sometimes it seems like nothing is going right and no one else cares
it's okay. it happens to the best of us.

is there a reason the Church lasted so long? was there communion with a large amount of guests? take all of that into consideration. Talk to the Church and tell them you have to be out by a certain time. While most people say Churches don't like to talk about the party aspect of the day, they all know you are having one so it doesnt hurt to discuss your fears with them.

My Church is at 3:30 with CH at 7:30. Totally not to late for a Sunday.

Re: FIRST TIME

It must be the week because I felt like yesterday was my first real bridezilla moment dealing with my e-pics situation.

As cherish83 said we are definetely entitled!!!!

Re: FIRST TIME

my reception is also at 3 and my cocktail is at 5:30. I was also nervous about the time in between. The church won't move mine up because of school (its on a friday) and the RH wont move mine back because of another wedding that day. so I am also stuck...but i've decided to cut the recieving line to save time, and I may not do the unity candle also to save time. I still want the full mass, so not giving that up, but those few things in between, i will cut out.

one thing to do - make sure you start on time! of course there may be things that will get in the way, but i will be psychotic on that day about starting on time...i think as long as I start on time and get my guests out to go to the RH on time, i dont care if me and FH miss cocktail hour. hopefully it all works out...

A Greek Orthodox wedding service takes 45 minutes to an hour.... But then we have the receiving line, the signing of the church marriage license, pics in the church......It shouldn't take longer than 1 hour to 1 1/2 - but when I saw my friend's wedding take 2 hours, I got nervous.

I think we are just going to change the RH to 5:30 and pray that the church doesn't take too long. Also, since out CH is an hour and a half, we should have enough time to take our pics (which we plan to do during the CH)

I will definitely speak to our priest regarding our concerns - Thanks!

How far is your church from the RH? I would prefer to keep the receiving line but I guess we will see how much time we have. I really hope we start on time- however, there is a wedding that is scheduled right before mine so I hope that bride is on time

I know i'm just stressing and it will all work out.....and I am sure it will all work out for you too

We're all entitled! Plus, whats the difference if its a little later? Its not like your guests are going to expect to be in bed by 9pm anyway.
