First Timer

OH MY GOD! I am suppose to get married in april and after looking at all your messages i am in big trouble. I need some serious help. Does anyone recommend any books that can help me get started? This is my first time on this website.

I bought books but I never use them. There is soo much info here and everyone is so helpful.

Also, other good sites that I found are www.theknot.com; www.weddingchannel.com; and www.ultimatewedding.com.

thank you guys for the support. I actually am going to look at places this week. So wish me luck. I am going to have what i think is a small wedding 90-100 people so its not that bad. Then i will know the exact date I know i want it in april, friday night to hopefully save some money. You guys know how it is in LI. Thanks for the advice i will look into the sites that were listed.

congrats and welcome!!! when i first found this site i felt like i was sooooooooo far behind the rest of the 06'ers!! planning is only as stressful as you make it be. i haven't found the books i bought to be very helpful, magazines are good for looking at dress styles and wedding ideas. this website is the best and most complete source of info for li weddings, i need not go anywhere else! good luck and have fun! ~lacey

Welcome. Honestly, if it wasn't for this site I would have never known who to go to and would have taken my time booking vendors w/o knowing how fast they get booked. This website is addicting! Watch out

definetely get 'bridal bargains' its a phenomenal book that can help you with all aspects of planning, budgeting, and negotiating!!!

I personally don't think books are going to help much, LI Weddings will be a bigger help!

Welcome!

I regret purchasing a bunch of planning books. The only exception is the etiquette book. I look that that book a lot. This board has a lot of information - much more useful than planning books.
