Firsts after death...

Firsts after death...

One day at a time
One step at a time
We will cross that bridge when we get to it

These are all the cliches we have been living by. But now comes one of the hardest steps ever..going away without my moms fiance. He was the one who introduced small vacations into our lives again after my dad left. It was always such a wonderful time. He would stay in a room with my husband and my brother and me, my mom and sister would share a room. Every night like clockwork him and my mom would take a walk at 11 in the country since the rest of us were scared. Then she would go with him in his room and watch classic movies for hours. This is the first time in 13 years we are not going away with him.

I cant even imagine how my mom feels but she feels its something she must do. I dont feel like I can handle it though. I am dreading it. I know she is going to be so upset and I see no happiness for her this week.

I am so afriad of what it is going to bring and how it sets her back. I was surprised she wanted to go at all but she says she has to do it or else she never will again. I dont think I am ready...but I will do anything to make her happy.

Wish me luck!

Good luck and stay strong. Try to focus on and remember the good times you all had together. It will be hard but remember he is there with you in spirit and wants you to enjoy these special family trips

Good luck, and stay as strong as you have been Noreen!
Are you going to the same exact place? Maybe she should say something 'to him' at the location of where they most spent there time (you know, kind of close her eyes and speak to him in her mind). Im sure she will be thinking of him alot. maybe she can write him a little letter while shes away. Writing can be so therapeutic.
I hpoe you all have the best time possible at this point in the grieving process. Remember the good times with him, and keep them alive. Im sure he wouldnt want you to NOT have a good time.
