FI's dad just showed up....UH

I got home from bowling at 9:45 and there was a message on my machine from FI's brother (his dad remarried and has 2 children) and his brother says 'hi its your brother and dad and mom had a huge fight we dont know where dad is and thought he might have showed up by you. I guess he isnt there. talk to you later'

I called his brother back and said no sorry I've been out and he hasnt tried to contact us.

So now its 10:45 and my bell rings. I was like what the hell, and its his dad. His dad just shows up. No phone call nothing. Just shows up at 10:45pm and tells me he is in the area.

Then he starts asking me if Brian did calling cards this week (they sell calling cards) I said yes but I dont know what he has. His dad starts asking me a million questions like well do you know where he keeps the money, do you know if he has any cash around, I have a check I need cashing. I told him yes I know where it is, but I dont go touching it because its card money and I dont know how he sorts it.

All I keep thinking is I am not Barbara (his dad's wife) I dont go taking FI's work money. Its his work money and his business when it comes to calling cards I dont go touching it.

UH So now his dad is here hanging out and its bothering me. FI is working and wont be home till after midnight and I have absolutly no way of getting in touch with him.

yes he is still here. I think he is snoring....

He is waiting for FI to get home....

George (his dad) and wife Barbara do not get along. All she does is spend spend spend. If he makes 100 dollars she spends 300. At his home he has 2 teenaged kids (a boy and girl) and they are just that teenagers. His wife goes shopping all day.

So he comes here to get away from the chaos of his own house.

FI has had a huge talk with him telling him look Liss lives here too and you need to have concideration for her feelings. You cant just show up when you want. If you plan on stopping by you need to call.

That all went in one ear and out the other.

I think FI is not very harsh on his dad because last year in February his dad went into the hospital and had a quadrupile bypass while we were in FL. We didnt find out till we came back. I think FI feels a little guilty about yelling at his dad about certain things because he feels he almost lost him last year.

FI got home at around 12. I ran to the door and told him his dad was here. He was like 'what the F'

He and his dad were talking and at 1am when his dad was still here I told FI I am exhausted I am going to bed. I went to the bedroom closed the door and watched tv.

His dad FINALLY left at 1:45.

When FI came to bed I was so angry, but he understood my fustration. He felt bad for his dad because he doesnt get any respect at his house but said its still very unfair that his dad just show up like that.

I told FI I want you to know no matter what I will never touch your card money. Its your work money and I dont know how you sort it and I'll never touch it no matter how much your father gets on my nerves that he needs the money to cash a check.

FI said he knows and that he is sorry I had to deal with the aggrivation

OMG Chippa. My father lives out of state but he is just like that. He drove up here for a few days and knocked on my brother's door at like 4am.
My SIL answered the door and I think the kids woke up.My father thought nothing of it and was waiting for her to cook him some breakfast.
He said 'what am I supposed to wait outside for hours until you wake up?I can't help this is the time I arrived.'
Thank goodness he lives out of state because I wouldn't be able to deal with crap like that.

OMG! Mine used to call early in the morning too but that seems to have stopped.
His latest thing is he gets annoyed if I am not home and if I don't pick up the cell phone either.
Um hello,maybe I am in the shower or something.
I don't bring the phone everywhere!

Oh no the phone calls at 8am have not stopped. And he calls to ask the dumbest questions.

I know It just gets really aggrivating that his dad just shows up at 10:45pm and no phone call to even say he was coming over. The he doesnt leave till almost 2am. I sometimes feel uncomfortable with his dad around and i hate the feeling that I cant be comfortable in my own apartment.

You're absolutely right! I mean, yes, his dad should feel comfortable when he comes over for a vist, but it's YOUR apartment, and you should not be made to feel uncomfortable! Jenn is right, what if you're walking around naked or something and in walks your FIL??? Actually, maybe that would teach him a lesson!!! OR have him coming over more often...LOL

I think I would have a heart attack.

Our apartment is very very hot and so I dont wear a lot of clothes at home because its just too hot (yea I know TMI) ...OMG I would have a complete breakdown if that happened
