My wedding is Nov. 7th. Have my 2nd fitting October 2nd. The ladies at the botique have told me that as of Oct.2nd. I can't lose anymore weight or they will have to charge me alterations fee a 2nd time ($250)
Is this normal???? Cause it sounds a bit OFF to me. .....

Re: Fittings
that is ridiculous! my sister in law had a dress fitting the same week. NO additional fee! unbelievable! i would talk to them and have those modications changed. the whole point of a custom fit dress is to get alterations done the week OF! so many brides lose weight at the last minute!

Re: Fittings
I haven't heard of charging twice for alterations, but it is best to try to keep your weight as stable as possible between your first and last fittings, that way they'll have less work to do (hence, less money for you).

Re: Fittings
That actually does sound right because they have to mess with the material and it is a pain to alter a dress that is too big.

Re: Fittings
I don't think that's right. I lost 20 lbs. in the 2 months before the wedding- ALL of it was after my first fitting. The seamstress remarked how great I looked with the weight loss and asked at my second fitting (and final fitting) if I planned to lose anymore weight. I told her about how much and she said no problem, she'd pin it extra tight in anticipation of the weight loss. We did have to pay the max for alterations, but not extra.

Re: Fittings
That totally sounds ridiculous! It's definitely off...I'm getting married on Oct. 2nd and I have my 2nd fitting next Friday, about 2 weeks before the wedding, so that definitely sounds fishy.
Why don't you put off your second fitting until you get closer to the wedding?
