From Wikipedia: Evening is the period in which the daylight is decreasing, between the late afternoon and night, around the time when dinner is taken. Though the term is subjective, evening is typically understood to begin just before twilight, sunset, during the close of the standard business day, 5 pm – and extend until night –

i would say evening...though it is technically afternoon it could be either and evening sounds more formal than afternoon.

This is just how I interpret it...
If its summer, its afternoon If its winter, its evening.
That's a good way of looking at it.

I would say evening, only b/c when I think of that time I think of it being the start of the evening....and since your wedding will keep going on after that it would be considered an evening wedding
ETA: truthfully no one will care whether it says evening, afternoon....or anything else for that matter so dont stress yourself out about it
