Re: flats...
I know your pain. My FH is several inches taller than me but I once seriously dated a guy who was several inches shorter and I always had anxiety about heel height.
I was looking at your engagement party photos and it looks like you have a slight heel- I cant event tell when you're standing next to your fiance.
So, I would suggest getting kitten heeled shoes (I bought a pair for my wedding at Sandy's in Massapequa) and make sure FH rents/buys tux shoes that give him a little lift. Trust me, nobody will think about it but you!

I feel your pain! I 5'9 so when I put heels on I basically tower over EVERYONE! I'm going to wear ballet flats but bring a pair of nice heels for pics that will show my feet...like removing the garter!
I'm definely plan on wearing flats.. I'm 5'10 and FH is 5'11...not a big difference.

well what do you normally do if you go to a formal event? my FH is 5'8' and I'm 5'6' and normally I wear like a 2-3 inch heel so I'm a little taller than him and it has never really bothered either of us before. That's my plan - just a lower heel.

Re: flats...
I considered having my FH wear slight lifts, but then I thought I don't want to make him feel inadequate. I'll just wear smaller heels.
It depends how you feel about being taller or shorter. I have a friend who wore heels and was visibly taller than her guy in her wedding pics, but she seemed ok with it.
