flea markets???

Michelle... I can give you directions to the Tri-County Flea Market in Levittown if you'd like. It's about 1/2 mile East of the Wantagh Parkway where it crosses over 24 (aka Hempstead Tpke) ... so from the LIE going East, take the Meadowbrook going south, to the Northern State going East, to the Wantagh going South. Get off at 24 East(Hempstead Tpke - sign will say Farmingdale)... take that down about 1/2 mile and Tri County is in a shopping center on your left.

I worked in Tri County when I was in college. Let me know what you are looking for and I can probably tell you if anyone there sells it. (I was just there last week too).

No offense Kim, but I thought I should clarify the directions. You cannot take the LIE to the Meadowbrook because the Meadowbrook ends at the Northern State Pkwy. If you do not know how to get to the Wantagh Pkwy exit for Hempstead Tpke, please post where you are coming from and I will help you.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. FMIL is more than willing to help plan and organize, being the 'local' person, but she's not in a position to help out financially, and since my parents are picking up the wedding tab and the reheasal dinner (actually a Welcome dinner for about 75 out of town guests) I wouldn't even consider asking them to foot the bill for a shower too.

But I guess I missed the obvious solution, which was to talk to my MOH before getting worried about it all!

Ironically enough, the sign says Meadowbrook Parkway off the LIE (actually looking at it from my office window as I type) ... so you are right, but you might want to point out the sign as something to look out for. (even though technically you'd be on NS first) ... go figure!
