I found a flea on my dog last night and I immediately took her to the bath tub for a bath. is flea shampoo safe and what do you use to prevent them in the future? Where did she get them if she is never around other dogs? Should i do anything to my house to ensure there are no other fleas! My poor puppy!
My cat had fleas when I brought her home from the shelter. It was gross! Flea shampoo is safe and works really well! The vet recommended that I use it. She had more than one flea too. I washed all my rugs and sheets and anything that was machine washable. I vacuumed the whole house and couches and between the couch cushions...under the couch...everywhere! I bought this flea spray that is safe on your furnisher and carpets....Raid makes it. It worked. I believe it's in a purple can. I had no fleas after I used the spray, I knew because I had no more flea bites. Have you gotten flea bites? Also your dog can get fleas from outside, doesn't have to be from another dog. Put a flea collar on him/her. My mom puts a flea collar on our dog every spring and summer and he never brings home fleas. Good Luck!
Use Frontline to prevent fleas. If it was only one flea, and you don't see any others, the one shampoo is fine.
If u have them in the house get a brand called Zodiac they sell it at all pet stores!

just make sure you follow the directions on the flea shampoo! when we first got my cat, he got fleas and we were giving him flea shampoo baths every day and he almost died becasue it was poisoning him![]()
But it sure killed the fleas
