Floral Arrangements? Let's discuss
What is everyong putting on the tables? Describe colors and why and what type of flowers - did florist suggest or was it your own idea?

I just did my flowers last night. I chose all bright colors (something different). Sun flowers, gerber daisies, bright pinks, & purples. You should go with at least a color scheme and even better some ideas or pictures. The florist can really take over sometimes and when you get home you realize you got something that's not your style. Last night was my second time there. I changed everything!

Floral Arrangements? Let`s discuss
Im really stuck on this one. I love candles and want to incorporate them in some way. I will have oblong tables so I am thinking of something that will be long rather than high. I might to one low oblong with big flowers and scatter something smaller with candles(so the people on the ends dont feel left out). I dont know about colors yet - I my go with a solid color scheme with silver acents.

I love Sunflowers and would love to have them worked into a centerpiece. My fiance prefers the look of roses. We haven`t officially decided which way we`ll go, but our florist (Flowers by Brian) will do a sample of a Sunflower arrangement as we get closer to the wedding. It will have Sunflowers, Gerber Daisies, Stargazer Lillies and more. Our bridesmaids dresses are burgundy, so Lisa will use flowers to bring that color into the arrangement. If we decide the mix isn`t for us, we will go with roses. The arrangements will be raised off the tables with those clear tubes, filled with water and they will drop some flowers into it.

Candle centerpiece(LONG)
We are doing a ring of roses and blue delphinia and caspia with a hint of ivy-- with a floating rose candle in the middle I have pictures if anyone is interested--we designed it with the florist-- def take pictures when you get the final look you want-- we also have oblong tables and played around with the idea of doing 2 smaller bowls with floating candles or floating roses--- looks great on the table... Just a word on the candles--test them out beforehand--even if they say they will last 4-6 hours test them--floating candles are notorious for burning into a ball of messy wax in the bowl Laura

We are doing a low arrangement of Virginia roses, cream roses, deep blue iris, purple statice, lavender alstroemeria, caspia, and greens. Rising from that on clear tubes will be 2 tiered votive candles that give the illusion that they are 'floating' above the arrangement when the candles are lit and the lights are low.

That sounds perfect, its exactly what I am looking for. Do you have to buy the candle holders or are they rented?

The candles are included in the price of the centerpiece, and don't have to be returned. I wish I had a picture that I could send to you. They really are pretty. : )

Just out of curiosity When people rent pieces of the centerpiece..ie vase, etc how do the guests not take them home? isnt it natural for people just to assume that the centerpiece is going to someone at the table? Just wondering Laura

I have no idea how to keep guests from bringing home parts of centerpieces that are rented. I wouldn't rent any part of my centerpieces for exactly that reason. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has any good ideas on the subject though.

Floral Arrangements& Rented Parts
I have been to a few weddings where the centerpiece was part of a large elaborate candlelabra(sp) that was either rented or owned by the florist. The bride either passed the word around or had the JJ/Band announce what Not to take home as part the who wins the centerpiece game.Welcome New Vendors
