Floral Terrace / Sand Castle Brides

Is anyone going to the Showcase at SandCastle next Tuesday?
Has anyone booked any of their preferred vendors yet?
Does anyone know what to expect from this showcase?

Hey Cynthia!

I'll be at the Sand Castle next week! I think they're having all their vendors showcased along with hors d'oeuvres and stuff. It'll be a great place to get lots of info, esp if you're considering using their vendors.

I almost feel like I have to use their vendors - I know that's not true but still.

I'm not going to the showcase but after interviewing 11 photographers, i booked one of their house vendors (Lawrence Photography). They were comparable in price but it was just their quality that sold me. Definitely take a look! Have an awsm time at the showcase!

I'll definitely be there!!! I only booked one of their vendors (ProLine Studios). I hope they dont make a fuss about it because Ive heard from a couple of people they practically push you to use their vendors. Don't know if anyone has experienced this but I really didn't get that impression.

Neither did i....no one pushed to use their vendors.

I'm not sure about whether to go to the showcase or not. I've booked the majority of my vendors, and for anything that is left, I know who I plan to use.

What else goes on at the showcases? Is there definitely free food - cause then I might be willing to go just for that. Haha.

I didn't find them pushing me to use their vendors at all. I knew I was definitely going to use Royalty for limos, no matter what hall I booked with. And as for the photography, I booked Proline. I felt they gave me a great deal, and it did help because they were a SC vendor. But I definitely did not feel obligated to use them. As for a DJ, I'm going with a non-SC vendor that I Iike. And I think I'm going with another non-SC vendor for flowers. So I haven't faced any problems with not using their vendors.

Anyone who does go, can you find out about the renovations and let us know about it? I'm hearing how the renovations are supposed to start at the end of 2008. My wedding is November 2008, so I'm worried what it's going to look like at that time! Thanks!!!

They definitely don't pressure you to use their vendors. Although I have to say that the photographers they use are all good. Btw, I booked with Proline. Has anyone taken their epics yet?

And yes, there will be free food

I booked with Proline too. I haven't done the epics yet. I have to get around to setting it up one of these days.

I gotta be honest - I have been to two showcases so far just to see what they are like and I have a lot of fun! I went to the big one last week at Jericho Terrace and there was soo much food and way too many people - at least this showcase is exclusive to SandCastle/Floral Terrace brides. I hope they will have entertainment (DJs) playing music b.c they really make you wanna get up and dance.
Anyway - I can't wait and I really hope I see you guys there!

Does anyone know if the food at the showcase is made by the chefs at the Sand Castle? Just wondering since they dont do food tastings

Yess I will be at the sandcastle...it is just finger foods i heard but they do have food tasting I would not book it unless i tasted the food....excellent...they were not pushy to use their vendors in anyway

I tasted the food at Sandcastle during a wedding going on at the time - it was only the cocktail hour food and it was only for the Bride and Groom. I could not bring anyone else. ex: parents. I know they do not set a night aside for food tasting.

They are having better plates thats for sure
