Florida/Disney Honeymoon

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone did a Disney honeymoon.
I'm a Disney fanatic and my fiance proposed to me in Cinderella's castle.

He likes Disney World too, but not as much as I do, so I was surprised when he said he wanted to spend part of our Honeymoon in Disney World.

This was an idea I mentioned early on, but later scrapped, because honestly as much as I love Disney World, I had my heart set on a nice relaxing all-inclusive trip to somewhere tropical.

Have any brides (or brides to be) planned a two-part honeymoon? Is it fun or does it add to the stress?

I figured we could go someone near Florida. I'm thinking maybe four days at a Sandals Bahamas resort and then three days in Disney World. Or I was wondering if anyone knew any all-inclusives in the Florida Keys.

Thanks so much!

Florida/Disney Honeymoon - Long Island Weddings

We were originally going to do 3 days in Disney and then 7 days at a Sandals (we've since scrapped this idea). But I think it's a great idea!

My only recommendation is that you do Disney first so you can then relax the rest of your vacation and you'll feel fully rested when you get back.

Florida/Disney Honeymoon - Long Island Weddings

We did Disney as part two of our honeymoon.
We opted to stay at Pop Century since we knew we wouldn't be spending too much time in the room.

We did the dining plan which helped alleviate costs. We went to Downtown Disney, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom. It was a lot of fun.

I know someone who went on their honeymoon to Disney and loved it. They got asked to be the Grand Marshalls of the parade in Magic Kingdom which was pretty cool!

Re: Florida/Disney Honeymoon

Funny you should ask. We go to Disney World every year so we ruled that out right away. We are going to Hawaii instead however...California is on the way...we are seriously considering one or two nights in Disneyland and then the rest of the two weeks in Hawaii.

I don't think a two part honeymoon would add to the stress. I agree with Lori though about doing Disney first so you can relax the rest of the time

Florida/Disney Honeymoon - Long Island Weddings

That's a great idea.. FH and I go to Disney every year and were engaged at the castle as well.

I do think it is better to do Disney first since sometimes Disney can be draining. So I would say go to Disney for the 3 days then head over to the Bahamas or somewhere in the caribbean. The flight will be super short and probably really cheap too. We are doing Punta Cana which is really price friendly.

I also love Disney and think it could be the most romantic place in the world! We go every year too and got engaged looking at the fireworks on a boat in the Seven Seas Lagoon! If you are leaving immediately after your wedding I suggest going to the Bahamas first. You probably will be so exhausted from your wedding you would want to just relax for a couple of days and Disney is not the place to do that! If you aren't leaving right after your wedding I would do Disney first so you can relax after.

Florida/Disney Honeymoon - Long Island Weddings

I have no experience with a two part honeymoon...but I can say, we Honeymooned in Disney, stayed in the Animal Kingdom, and it was the best thing I could ever have asked for!! My husband was shocked...he actually said 'I mean, I figured this would be fun...but I just can't believe HOW MUCH fun!!'
