Has anyone heard of Jack and Rose Florist?? If so, what did you think?

Jack and Rose has had some mixed reviews here on the board. At one point there was a lot of controversy about what a bride thought she was getting for a centerpiece and what she actually got. I, on the other hand, used them for my first wedding and was so pleased that I am using them again.

If I remember, the owner of Jack and Rose was on this board a couple of month`s ago posing as a bride and trashing other vendors and bride who posted her concerns on here. Seems a bit unprofessional to me. That alone made me stay away from them.

I had a friend who used them. She was pleased with the work but not with Jack himself. There seemed to be a mix up on how the final payment should be made. He told her if she didn't get him the cash that day(a few days before the wedding) she would not have any flowers on her wedding day.

Another Florist option for you
I am getting married at Carlyle on the Green - their house florist is Stefans Florist... I wanted to go to some others before I went to them - I saw Flowers by Brian (they are an option) thought they were very good (i'm not using them but good) Stefans - you go to a showroom and meet with a salesman to go over your needs - I feel completely at ease that my flowers will be perfect. In fact I called them to say I wanted to maybe change a few things after signing contract and they called me back right away and said no problem (again telling me how they will take care of everyting and assuring me that I can feel confident in them) I then went to a local florist (told them everything I was getting) there price was higher I couldn't believe it!

I'm using Sugar Magnolias in Stony Brook. That may be too far out east for your needs. I was impressed with how they do business because they are not a full service florist, only event flowers. Therefore they don't have alot of overhead and don't have to keep a full stock of flowers all the time (I used to work in a florist so I knew exactly what I wanted and what I should pay) so you are less likely to get 'filler flowers' that look nice but are about to expire. I met with the owner and she was very careful to work within my budget. Her style is not dramatic, it's very understated, like Martha Stewart type. If thats what you are looking for give it a try. Good luck.Welcome New Vendors
