who should i use - flowers by brian or pedestals? my price quote was roughly the same for each, so i guess it comes down to who is the better florist.

Re: florist

I had the same decision to make, and went with Pedestals in the end, based on the reviews from other brides. I'm sure you'll be happy either way.

I met with Brian of flowers by Brian and was so turned off by him. I met with Nadia at Pedestals and LOVED her...personality and enjoying who you are working with trumps all sometimes.

One of my BM used Flowers by Brian and had a bad experience with them. I'm using pedestals.

Re: florist

I cant remember the name of the guy I met with at Pedestals but it was not a good experience. I felt like I was being rushed out. He only met with me for like 15 minutes. Wrote down my info, didn't talk much, didn't have much of an opinion. He came back with a quote and said call if you have questions. We were in and out in like 15 minutes.

I didnt go see Flowers by Brian so I dont know anything about them. The other florists I saw spent at least an hour with me talking, showing me different things, trying to understand my vision. I haven't decided who I'm going with yet though.

i can totally understand why you felt that way about pedestals. my appointment wasn't very long either. that really didn't bother me though b/c i went in there knowing exactly what i wanted. the guy i worked with got my vision and showed me a bunch of pictures that were similar to what i had in mind. for me, the whole point of the appointment was to see if they could work within my budget.

are you any closer to making a decision?

I looked at both and honestly though Flowers by Brian did better work and had better customer service.

Re: florist

my vote is for FBB based on customer service.
FBB is very receptive and reachable unlike my experience with pedestals. FBB calls, follows up and has already met with me twice because i changed my mind (my wedding is a year away!). Pedestals took 1 week to return my call (after seeing them and getting a quote).
To me customer service is important esp if you are happy with both ideas & prices

The guy at pedestals didnt even show me pictures!! I kinda knew what I wanted, but not fully and he was just like 'ok sounds good.' I was not at all confident that he was going to do what I wanted.

I'm almost there. Meeting with one more florist on Thurs then we will make the decision.

i can't get over the experience you had at pedestals. i'm still torn between flowers by brian and them, but pedestals has been so helpful so far. i actually called them today and asked if they would do a sample of my centerpiece for me before i booked with them. they had no problem doing that so i set up a second appointment for this weekend. who did you work with there? who else are you meeting with? i'm considering setting up a few more appointments myself. ughh, who thought flowers could be so stressful?!

I met with Bayview in Massapequa, Malkmes in Port Jeff, Hidden Essence in Deer Park, and i'm meeting with Sugar Magnolias in Stony Brook.

The distance was also an issue for me with Pedestals. I'm getting married out east....so they are really far. Made me nervous.

Re: florist

We're booked with Flowers by Brian.

Pedestals was our other top choice, but I got such a good vibe from our consultant at FBB that I ended up never even going to my appt with pedestals.

Re: florist

We went to Flowers by Brian and loved what we saw....then we were supposed to have an appointment with Pedestals but when I called to confirm they said my name was taken off the list and I would have to reschedule....based on that customer service I am not using them.....hope that helps
