I have my first (ever) florist appointment on Thursday. I have no idea what to expect and what I should bring, etc. Any ideas/suggestions/comments, etc?

Re: Florist Appointment - What Do I Ask?
When I went to see florists I brought some color ideas, and a few ideas of things I knew I wanted, and numbers such as how many people, # bm, #gm, #parents/grandparents. Other than that the florist really provided everything else... ideas, suggestions, went throw different types of flowers I may like, what's in season, different types of vases. I would say don't give them a def price range off the bat but see what they are willing to give you (being realistic of course).

Re: Florist Appointment - What Do I Ask?
I brought my laptop with pictures of the type of flowers I had in mind.
- ask them about what's in season (around your date). This plays a key role in pricing. also you can keep the more expensive flowers for your bouquet and less expensive for bridesmaids and centerpieces. - type of centerpieces (high or low). if values change by how much? -roses petals for the tables and cake table (usually free) - throw away bouquet (usually free) -boutonnieres for the guys (with my contract they were free) -corsages for moms/aunts -flower girl baskets (you can sometimes purchase direct and bring your own) and petals
-Contract should state all the type of flowers you discuss for your bouquet, BM bouquet and centerpieces -Ask them about delivery and setup fee. depending on distance and time, price might vary.

It's really what you need to have with you to be prepared. I like Annie's list a lot. Don't let them talk you into anything you don't want, and, don't let them talk you out of anything your heart is set on.
You must, must, must have color ideas, otherwise, it's kind of a waste. You should also know your RH well enough to know what kinds of CPs you want, high, low, etc.

I put that ALL on my list! Thank you so much! I'm kind of nervous... mostly because I have no idea what I am going to do for centerpieces.

Websites like the knot and project wedding are so helpful with figuring out the type of flowers you want. The more you browse, the more you will be sure!

Re: Florist Appointment - What Do I Ask?
i literally just got out of my appointment and i have to say that i absolutely love love jen from verbena! she listened to everything and i saw all her flowers in the shop and they looked so fresh and beautiful! the pricing seemed just right... but i think i'm booked just because of her.
