Florist appointments tomorrow UPDATE!!!!

So I am going to see 5 florists tomorrow!

Flower Michele
J a c k & R o s e
Pedestals
Flower Barn
and Burton's

Any advice?? I am so lost when it comes to this, I have an idea of what I want like will they draw something up for me, or is the inital just strictly about $$$

(I do have some pics to bring to of stuff I like.)

So we only made it to 3 bc my mom and I said F it and went to Fortunoff instead! LOL

anyhoo- We met with Pedestals, Flower Michele, and J & R.....

LOVED LOVED LOVED Flower Michele! Pedestals was great too and J & R I was a little disappointed (this was only my experience I have heard wonderful things about them). So I still want to see Flower Barn and Burton's and plan on making appointments with them this week if possible... but we had so much fun! Nadia at Pedestals was so sweet and really saw my vision, and Rich at Flower Michele was just awesome!!! He was accomodating had great ideas, and even gave me a bouquet to take home! My gut tells me we will be using them but as I said I still want to check out the others.

Thanks for the advice and wishes of GL everyone! Anyone with specific questions on my meetings with them FM me I am happy to help

Pedestals is a NOOOOOOOOOOO - especially Nadia! I met with her and she was so desperate to book my wedding that she was willing to take a center piece selection away from another bride, so that I could have it for my wedding, and she planned on telling that bride that the center piece holders were unavailable for her date (she was trying to choose between two holders). I was dumbfounded at this and just knew that as much as I wanted the centerpiece holder, I did not want to hurt another bride. And, when I met with her, she said nasty, false things about Flower Michele and James Cress Florist (I met with both of them prior to Pedestals). She told me FM was going out of business, which is NOT true - IF ANYTHING, they are doing so well, they may need a bigger space!!!! And, she told me James Cress uses second rate flowers. So, be careful with Pedestals - EXPECIALLY NADIA!

I booke with FM and am ECSTATIC that I did - they are so much fun to work with, so helpful and despite their continuing success - THEY KNOW THEIR BRIDES - and they care about each couple and making THE DAY special. There are no gimmicks, so false sales practices, just true, genuine, loving owners with a true knack for this area of your wedding!

I had a similar experience with Nadia...I walked out of Pedastals shook up! I couldnt believe that a vendor would treat a bride the way she treated me. I found them to be the MOST unprofessional vendor that I met with so far! I had a HORRIBLE experience there. I called my hall and asked them how they would even recommend them as a vendor! However this is JMO and there are a lot of girls that booked with them- so if you like them I wouldnt worry

Shauna I booked Pedestals and omg I absolutely LOVE them. I met with Robert who is part owner and happens to do all the 'specialty weddings' (like in the city or destination weddings) and he knew EXACTLY what I wanted and MORE. He's phenomenal. It's a beautiful florist, too. Pedestals was featured on Platinum Weddings at OHEKA and they did an amazing job. I have total confidence in them. I can't wait to hear how it all went... I'm not going to start looking until I think July, but Flower Barn is on my list. Flower Michele was on my list too, but someone told me to take it off my list, so I listened, now I'm hearing good things from you guys, maybe I'll just go there anyway.

You just have to go with your gut and try not to take in too many peoples oppinions as I see you are getting a lot of mixed oppinions on here. Don't let anyone detere you from a vendor you really love because of what their experience was. Also it depends on what you are looking for in a florist. I know I personally need a florist that is out of the box and has a lot more to offer than just 'flowers'. For example, non-floral decor for the ceremony, lighting, flower-candle combo center pieces, and linens and things and so far the only place I have found that can offer all of this is...Pedalstals. A place that has been both heavily praised and disputed on here. If I listen to a lot of people I would never even go inside to see considering somethings that have been said. However my cousin used them for her wedding which I was in and everything was upscale and beautiful..Just what she wanted. I was at her home when our bouquets were delivered and the staff was very professional. She worked with the infamous Nadia who is also both praised and disputed. My cousin loves her and recommends her. So again you have to see for yourself and not prejudge based on opinion posts. Used them as a tool but not as the deciding factor.
