FLORIST HELP - why did you pick one over another? who did you choose?

Time for flowers - I'm thinking checking Burton's, Flowers by Liz(gown place reccommended), and Flower Michele.

I met with 5 florists & wound up booking with Flower Michelle.
I felt that 2 didn’t really get what I wanted. Not that they were bad but in comparison they were at the bottom of the list.
1 was great but was out of our price range.
The last two I had a hard time choosing over but in the end Flower Michelle was used by a few people I knew & there flowers were beautiful. He also really got what I wanted and connected with me.

Basically meet with a few florists. Have a color scheme in mind. (It just makes it easier) Know what you like & dislike. Like, I don’t like baby’s breath, I'm not really into calla lily’s. I love open roses and hydrangea. This helped. I also put together a collage of pictures.
That really helped them to see what I like and the style I was going for.

I used Carmine from Flowers By Emil because I have been using him forever and always knew that I wanted him to do the flowers for my wedding. Also, he is very reasonably priced and loves to talk about flowers. When he meet with him, you definately can tell how much he loves his business and how much he knows about each flower.

We went with Flower Michele. We had looked at two others but when we met with John, we knew almost immediately that we wanted him to be our florist. He loves what he does and it shows in his work. He has great attention to detail and really great ideas. I can't say enough good things about him!

We choose Lindenhurst Florist on Wellwood AVe in Lindenhurst - they were recommended by a friend (her flowers were beautiful) and their price was EXCELLENT! I got all my flowers (except CPs because I had candle CPs) for $460!

I saw three florists and I picked who I did because I felt like I would get the most personal attention and attention to detail from that florist than the others. Plus she totally understood what I wanted and she was very organized and computer literate (like me). She was prompt with E-mails and made me feel quite confident in her ability to do my wedding the way I wanted.

One of them I saw (literally!) that I was just going to become another sheet of scribbled yellow paper added on to the 2 ft pile they already had.... even though their price was slightly better and they promised me more flowers, I had zero confidence that they 'got' what I wanted, or even cared for that matter. I was just ANOTHER wedding and ANOTHER $2K in their pocket. It was obvious they went for quantity.

The other florist I saw was nice, but totally inflexible with her pricing and made me feel 'cheap' for trying to make changes to what I wanted in order to save money. I don't think she was doing it on purpose, but that's how it made me feel. It's funny because I tried every which way to get her to lower the price quote (change flowers, change CPs, etc), she was the florist my DHs family had used for years so I wanted to give her a fair shot. Anyway, long after I booked my florist, she called and asked why I didn't go with her. When I told her the price my florist gave me, she said 'Well, I could've given you that price!' Oh really? But you didn't and I tried!

I picked Flowers by Michele....and they were the only ones I even looked at. Along with Duet, I had heard enough wonderful things about both vendors that I went up to long island with the sole intention of booking them on the spot. Planning from Virginia, makes it hard to go up weekend after weekend so I did a really thorough search on these boards about flowers and picked the most consistently praised one. And John of course won!
