Florist Pricing

Florist Pricing

I know that we have a bunch of threads on this already but it seems like i keep choosing THE most expensive florists in the area for our wedding...

We officially decided to lower our budget for flowers HARDCORE so AT MOST what do you girls think we should be charged for:

Bridal Bo-k
4 BM Bo-ks
6 Man-flowers lol
3 FG baskets
3 Corsages
Minimal ceremony decorations (although we are willing to scratch this all together)
10 Centerpieces (whether high or low)
30 CH 'centerpieces' (they can be tea light candles for all I care)
Miscellaneous things like cake table, card table, etc.. we really don't have high expectations for them...

We went to 3 different florists and so far we've had these quotes:

7,000 (no joke!)
5,500
3,400

Once again... am I off my radar with this because they seem like astronomical prices and I really want to come under 1,500 if it's possible.

Any advice/suggestions?

TIA!!!

if you don;t care what the CH cps are, go buy tea light candles in bulk yourself and take them off that list and either go w a combo high / low CPS or just low to save $.

otherwise I think you could get closer to 2000.

Re: Florist Pricing

what type of flowers are you looking for..it could go up or down depending on the availability to get the flowers or if they are just rarer flowers in general. I just went to Flower Michele and he gave me a great price for the elaborate flowers I wanted. Maybe you could go check them out...FM me if you want more info.

My mom owned a florist, so did my aunt, and I was going to take over the business but decided against it... flowers are a major pat of my family and i know a pretty decent amount about them. 7,000 is insane..so is 5,500..but again it could be the flowers you were choosing.

hth!

UMM all 3 of those costs are riciulous - unless the flowers you are asking for are really expensive...

what florists have you gone to??? if you havent already check out flower barn, what we are paying is LESS then all 3 that you listed and we are getting WAYYY more.

Every flower that we wanted was 'In-Season' for May... and honestly it's not like it was anything extraordinary... roses, orchids, hydrangeas, peonies... I guess those are super expensive huh? lol

If you can FM me more info that would be spectacular thank you so much!

Re: Florist Pricing

Go with half high half low for centerpieces to lower the cost.. and maybe lower your expectation of what kind of flowers you want.

Bouquets do add up... my bridal bouquet is like 300-350. The girls are between 50--100 each. Guys are 10 each.
Have them reuse centerpieces in your ceremony to save money too!

I went to teh Little Flower Shoppe In Lindenhurst for about the same amount of stuff and I am right around $2,000. I think all those CH CPs are killing you. I would DIY those (or at least buy the materials!)

Re: Florist Pricing

check B Urtons, Designs by Rose, also check some of the local flower shops that do more than just weddings. Sometimes they are lower because they want the repeat business.

one explained it to me as: if I do a good job with your wedding for a very reasonable price, who are you going to go to for birthdays, anniversaries, showers, etc?

Re: Florist Pricing

I found a few pictures I liked and emailed a few of the popular florists on this site and asked for quotes.

Becky from Moments in Time was the best quote I got.
www.momentsintimefloraldesign.com

I got a good recommendation from a friend, I met with her and she asked a lot of questions about my wedding to see what kind of styles I liked and what kind of flowers would work. She works within budgets, and everything is cheaper if you provide your own vases, candles etc.

Try Hidden Essence, I met with Michelle and she is wonderful. I am ordering more than you and at least 20 centerpieces and my price is 2100. I am using all roses and no filler flowers. Btw after I booked with her she sent me a gift certificate for a facial...wish more vendors were like her!!!
