Ok, FH and I booked our florist over a year ago. I've had zero contact with them since then. When we booked we still had no idea what colors we were doing, but I knew I was going to do blue, so our flowers were mainly yellow, white and light blue.
Now our colors are navy, bright pink and white - so obviously I don't still want yellow and light blue flowers. FH called them today so we could meet with them to talk about the flowers we wanted instead and they told him that they don't really do that - but they would make us a sample of what we already discussed and we could change it if we wanted to.
So basically - you're not going to listen to what I actually want, but you'll make me a sample of something I know I DON'T want?? Does this seem bizarre to anyone else??
I think today was def my first Bridezilla moment when he told me this.

Wait what??? That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard! Whyyyyy in the world would they make a sample of colors that you dont even want????? I would def. call again and speak to the person in charge.... did you talk to the person in charge or like a receptionist?
Edited to add:
YOU ARE NOT CRAZY!!!!!!!!!! lol

That's ludicrous! I have never heard of a florist locking you in to your choices at initial booking. You are not crazy at all. Why would they even want to waste their stock to make an unwanted sample?

Ummm yeah that is weird. What if you just call back and tell them no more yellow and put the pink it its place. Then call back next week and ask for a sample?

Totally strange. I changed completely, and there was no problem.

Call back again. Don't ask it as a question. Tell them that you changed your colors and would like to set up an appt to come see your sample in the new colors.
If they refuse, then they are just wasting their own money b/c then you will demand that they make new samples of your new colors and come back again to see them.

No, you're not crazy. If anything, I think the florist is trying to be either smart or lazy. They could be using a tactic to try to sell something you don't want so they don't have to go through the extra work of using another color palette for samples. Make the trip down to the florist and bring any receipts/invoices or documents you have on what you had previously discussed with them. Then lay it down in terms of the pricing and what you would like your floral arrangements to look like, bring pictures & desciptions so you get the exact flowers you want. If they're not willing to re-do the colors or different floral arrangements, find yourself a new florist. You should not pay and have to put up with this kind of service. Even if you're revised your floral arrangements 10x, your florist should accomodate you since you are their customer and you are giving them business. I dealt with a situation similiar to yours during my wedding. The florist I worked with tried to confuse me with my floral arrangements by suggesting other substitutions so I would pay more. Towards the end, I was still very disappointed with my flowers on the day of my wedding (personals missing/arrangments did not come out as stated on paper). Make sure you work very closely with your vendor or things could go wrong if you leave them in charge.

I don't see what the problem is. As long as you give them enough notice so they can have time to order certain flowers or colors that might be a little obscure and not something they ALWAYS carry...I dont see why they can't make you a sample CP of the exact flowers you want!!!
This is odd..no you are not crazy!!

that's beyond bizarre! i don't get it! i'd definitely call and speak to the person in charge and get that straightened out because that doesn't seem right to me either! GL!! i'm sure it'll all work out once you speak to the person in charge, but definitely don't let them push you around.
ETA: yeah, NO you're not crazy either!!!!
