Florist Quotes

Hi everyone,

I have to use one of two florists that my vendor requires. The price is shocking to me. A friend of mine is having a wedding double the size, (so double the bridesmaid bouquets, double the centerpieces, double the pews to decorate at church (mine is a small ceremony at the venue), and I'm not decorating the cocktail hour room) and her quote is less than half the price I'm receiving.

I'm just wondering if anyone can give me any idea of what you are getting and for how much. I think it will help me negotiate better if I know what a fair price is. Or maybe I have a good quote?

My quote was over $6k for:
1 Bridal Bouquet
6 Bridesmaid Bouquets
9 Boutonnieres
2 large centerpiece style bouquets for the ceremony that will be used as decor in the reception room
12 Centerpieces
3 pillar candles at each table
1 Entryway bouquet
15 small floating candles
Ceremony Runner

To me that's a little much. For less than $2000, I'm getting:
1 Bridal Bouquet
3 Bridesmaid Bouquets
6 Boutonnieres
14 Centerpieces with petals & votives (7 tall & 7 short)
1 throw away bouquet
6 pew bows with flowers
2 wrist corsages

3 Corsages for Moms & Grandma
1 Throw Bouquet
1 Bridal Bouquet

Flowers for the Cake
Flower Girl Basket and throw away petals

The flowers I got were beautiful and the centerpieces were big... We had Simply Elegant Floral Decorators

15 Cps (3 tiered cylendar vases w/ floating candles and orchids)

Im using dendrobium orchids and picasso callas if that helps!

6k for flowers is insane! If its an in-house vendor, they usually pay a fee to the venue so that may be why its so high. Can you use an outside vendor provided they have their own insurance?

whoa- thats crazy! I havent even started looking at florists yet! I have heard of a few names from people.. Pedestals...Flowers by Brian.. and *************... i heard great things about the first two but my friend said ************* were really difficult to work with throughout the whole process.. Let me know if you find any great quality and priced florists!

Thank you everyone. It's a buyout of $1500 so by the price I add that to another florist it's almost at the price I got them down to which is $4000. Thank you!
