FLORISTS (Sigh)

I went to 2 florists with as many pictures as I could finmd with what I wanted. Whatever I did not havea picture of I described in great detail. However, I expected the florist to have some suggestions for me...but they didn't. I'm pretty disappointed with how my appointments with the florist is going. Did anyone else hvae this experience when attempting to find a florist?
Sigh...

Re: FLORISTS (Sigh)

Who did you visit and what is your budget like? Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. I had no clue what I wanted, and got lots of ideas from Marie at In Full Bloom... but they are on the pricier side.

Who did you see at Pedestals? I spoke with Danny and he really seemed to have great ideas.

This happened to me when I met with 'pricier' florists. I figured if I was paying more $$ they would be able to help me create a vision. WRONG!

I met with Irene at Colonial Florists and she was awesome. She put boquets together for me and had me look at photos and tell her the ones I liked and did not like. She then encouraged me to meet with other florists even though I am definitely going with her. It was a great experience and they are also very reasonable.

Re: FLORISTS (Sigh)

I had exact same experience as you. I haven't found a florist yet, but here is what I did:

I found the bouquet, which I liked in case a florist didn't have suggestions. Then I tried to 'calculate' how many stems of each flower was on that picture. Afterwords, I made up in my mind BM bouquets (b/c I wanted them to be the same as mine, but other colors) and did the same thiing.

Then I called about 20 or so florists and got approximate pricing over the phone.

I now plan to schedule 4-5 appts with those that are in my budget and decide on only one of them afterwords.

Re: FLORISTS (Sigh)

both Flower Michele and Sugar Magnolias had awesome ideas! Heidi at Sugar magnolias just has absolute vision.
i know this is hard. this is one of those areas where i feel you have to 'click' with your vendor. Don't worry, keep looking, you will find it!!!

Re: FLORISTS (Sigh)

Hey! Keep looking. My first florist was like that. Just wanted to do whatever I suggested, but I don't know flowers!! So I went to Designer Florals (she advertises on here) and Sharon was very helpful!! I walked out of there with a beautiful boquets that completely suited me made with these gorgeous roses that I didn't even know existed!

Edited to say good luck!!
