I did it about a month before. When I booked I had a general idea of what I wanted. When I saw the sample a month before, I hated what she had made. She reworked it while we were there and made it better. I wouldn't want to have anything set too soon, because your idea/vision might change a little bit the closer you get to the actual wedding and all of your other plans/touches are coming together. JMO.
