So our reception hall requires us to use one of their in-house florists for centerpieces. We can use another florist for personal flowers/Church flowers/ etc . i did not want to do this as it makes me nervous to have even more vendors than we already have. But!!!!! I lvoed the personal flowers from Pedastals (to be hoenst i would probably have done all my flowers from them if i could) I just hope the other florist we have to use doesn't get agitated that we are not using them for everything. I am so nervous about this!

Re: Flower Dilemma!
Are you sure? Some halls tell you that but is it written anywhere in your contract? Don't forget alot of halls get kick backs when you use their vendors and the prices can be higher.

Re: Flower Dilemma!
Glen Island and Surf Club do this....its crazy isnt it? nevermind from what I saw $$$....I know someone who got prices from the must use vendor and went back booked for CP only and when the women said what do you want for Bo-k and church flowers the girl said Im going to have to use someone else to save $. In the end the house florist matched what she was getting and threw in some stuff..... so maybe that will happen for u unless u really want pedastals

Re: Flower Dilemma!
Our hall is making us use their florist also... BUT.. incase we don't want to.. we have to pay $800 for 'insurance'.. whatever that means.

Re: Flower Dilemma!
My RH is Crest Hollow and before I signed the contract, I mentioned that I had a family friend that's a florist and they changed the wording on the contract, allowing me to use my family friend. All it is with CHCC is they have to have insurance and sign a waiver. You should ask them what their policy is. HTH

I wish I would have thought to do that. My contract still says that I have to use one of CHCC's florists.

Re: Flower Dilemma!
Hey! Definatley review your contract - if it explicitly says you must use an in house vendor then there’s not much you can do – Except…. a lot of halls do make money off of their 'recommended' vendors; most people think its for a discounted price but often there’s a fee associated which ultimately comes out of your pocket. When you meet with any of their flower vendors tell them you haven’t found you venue yet so that they can give you an honest price estimate based on tables and such i.e. personal flowers but also keep this fact to your self so they don’t jack up the price per centerpiece. If your honestly nervous about using another florist in conjunction with the one you want to use - see if you can't go back to the hall and work something out - after all it IS their job to make you happy - you are paying them for their service and its YOUR money and your vision. I'd honestly be furious at someone telling me where and how to spend my money especially since its such a huge expense but maybe you can get creative about it ;) 'where there’s a will' there’s a way'. Worse case scenario bring in pictures of what you want for your personal flowers and DeMaNd a sample at the very least if someone is forcing you to use a certain service before you book that is the minimum they should do for you & also keep in mind though that personal flowers are delivered to you and your bridal party/groomsmen so its totally separate from the venue and takes place beforehand in case your worried about any confusion. Making a vendor list/run of show (wedding day schedule) to hand out to all other vendors with contacts and your maid of honors cell number will also help things go a lot more smoothly – and cause less stress on you. I hope this helps =)
