Flower girl
Last night, my cousin's wife texted me to tell me her daughter (from a previous relationship) can be our Flower Girl!!! I'm SOOOOO excited to make it official!!She's 10 years old, and will be 11 years by the time of our wedding. She's basically my 10 year old best friend, and is such an amazing girl!
We aren't having any kids at our wedding, but I wanted to make sure she could attend. Since she isn't a blood relative, it would've created a sh!tstorm or problems if we'd invited her and not clood related cousins' children. So this was my little loophole.
Now to figure out what I want her to wear!! Any suggestions?

Well! Not to butt in a different area than you asked for help in, but I'm afraid she may fall better into a junior bridesmaid category. My niece will be 11 for the wedding too and I really feel she's too old for an FG. Not to mention, she wouldn't be very happy labeled as a FG LOL.

I don't think 11 is too old at all. My ring boy is going to be 10.Anyway glad you get to have her there!

Awesome news! Did you pick out your bridesmaid dresses yet? Since she is ten she could probably get away with a slight variation on their dress IE sleeves on her if bridal party is strapless. I definitly wouldnt put her in a normal foo foo flower girl dress though :) Congrats!!

Ooh Terrie, that's a GREAT idea!!! I def didn't want her in that kind of frou frou dress, but I don't think it's appropriate to have her in a strapless gown either. Maybe a more age appropriate dress in the same color and material as the BMs. Thanks!!I know some girls have junior BMs, but I want a flower girl and ring bearer, but don't want kids at my wedding. Our RB and FG are both 11/12years old, and love the idea of being part of our wedding. I don't even think they'd know what a junior BM/GM would mean. To me, this is more special and exciting and I'm just happy both kids agreed to be part of our wedding party

That's what I thought until my uncle's wedding in 2006. They had no flower girl and the day OF the wedding, he asked me to take over the role.
....I was 20.
Still haven't recovered from that amusing moment!!
