Flower Girl Age?

Ok so the kids we are thinking of for the FG and RB are going to be 10 at the time of the wedding? Is that too old? When I told someone they said 'aren't they too big'
What is the normal age range?

The normal age range is from 3-8.

My goddaughter is going to be 10 years old when I get married. She did not want to be called a 'flower girl', so she is going top be my Junior bridesmaid...but she will be carrying a basket of flower petals and scattering them down the aisle in the church. She agreed.

FH's nieces are 8 & 10. He's like 'they are the flowergirls' - I'm calling the older one Jr BM ...

My niece will only be 18 months old at the wedding, but she is my only niece, so I'm having her father walk her down. We really wanted him to be in the wedding, but fh has so many friends plus my bro's, so we figured this will be a way to have him in the wedding. We're making him wear a tux.

I dont think that 10 is too old.

IT is what you want, if she doesn't want to throuw pedals then have her carry a small bouquet or hand out flowers to guest in the pews. I am having two a 11 yr old (that will be handing out flowers) and a 5 yr old that will be throwing pedals.

It is whatever you want

It's really your decision. I have three neices and the two younger ones (2 1/2 and 5 1/2) will be flowers girls and the older one (8) will be a jr BM. I thought the older one in my wedding just looked out of place with the two younger ones. In your case, they will be the youngest in the BP so I think it would look fine.

MY flowergirl (cousin) will be 8 when we get married. Instead of a basket she will carry a tiny bouquet or one of the ones that hang on the string. I also won't have her in all white. Sor t of a mix between a FG and junior bridesmaid.

I was 10 at my sister's wedding and I was the Junior Bridesmaid - the flower girl was 4 1/2.

My FGs will be 7 and 3 1/2.

My FG will be 10 too and my RB will be 9 pushing 10.

Maye you cna make it a mix of FG and Jr BM like someone said. My sister's FG was a tall 8 year old. She was cute..but she probably would have been better suited as a jr BM. She was on the cusp and she was 8. I think 10 is kinda too old, but it IS YOUR wedding, and I think I mix between the two could work

I think it is really up to you- I have a flower girl (1 and 1/2) and 2 junior bridesmaids (7 1/2 and 10). I could have made the older ones flower girls but I thought they would like to be junior bridesmaids at that age. They have been flower girls before. But I think it really is up to you and to them- ask their mother what she thinks they would prefer.

That's exactly why I'm calling the 10yr a Jr BM. FH doesn't get (we actually argue over this!! wasted energy!! can't understand why it matter to HIM what they are called - and they are HIS nieces!!).

you go with whomever works for you - not what someone else tells you - it has to be what you think is best

10 is 5th grade. I think that is too old. I was a JR. BM at 10 and would have never agreed to be a flowergirl. JMO

It is your day and if you want her to be a FG then go for it. or just call her a Junior BM

I dont think 10 is too old. You can really do whatever you want. I had my 10 year old niece in the wedding party but she didnt want to be a flower girl so I made her a jr bridesmaid.
