Flower girl dilemma

Original post by CDC2010

So my fiance has 2 little girl cousins who are sisters. We are definitely having the 5 year old as our flower girl. We are not having a ring bearer. I think we should have both sisters as our flower girls. My fiance and his mother disagree - they think that the other sister is too young (she will be a month away from 3 years old when we get married) and won't behvae. I don't think she is too young, especially since she will have her sister to walk down the aisle with. I also think it's rude to ask his cousin to have one of her daughters as out flower girl and not the other. Maybe that's because my sister and I are only one year apart and we never did anything separately lol. Anyway, I don't want to create a problem but I really want to have them both in our wedding party. Just wondering your girls' advice. Am I being difficult? TIA!

I dont think 3 years old is too young at all. I dont see any reason not to ask the other sister.

i think those ages are more than appropriate. I had 3 FG's. One was DH's neice who was 5.
I also asked my 2 nieces (who are sisters) who were almost 3 and almost 5. they were excellent. they all held hands and walked down the aisle. do what you want, it's your day,,, remember that.

here they are. the little one was fussy for pics afterwards, but she was great in the church.

how freakin cute are they. I love lil girls in dresses like this.

I am not the biggest fan of children in BPs, but it seems like you really want her in it so do what YOU want to do... don't listen to anyone else. Also, don't worry about hurting anyone's feelings... I doubt the 3 year old will think that you are rude if you don't have her or feel bad about it. I think it would be cute to have the 2 sister's walking down together, especially if you are close to both of them.

I had 3 flowergirls and the youngest was only 14 months. She did fine. The oldest girl was the Jr BM and she wanted to escort them down.

Three is a hysterical age, she probably won't behave but you will get a laugh. I think it would be nice to have the two sisters walk down the aisle together. Did you ask the 'original' flower girl what she thought? She may have more a clue than you realize on how her sister may behave.

I didn't have a flower girl or ring bearer but I had my five year nephew escort my mom down the aisle and he was so proud to have a job with everyone watching.
