I'M HAVING FLOWER GIRL DRESS DRAMA WITH OUR FLOWER GIRLS PARENTS (SET OF SISTERS)....IN YOUR HONEST OPINION, WHAT WOULD BE TOO TOO MUCH TO ASK SOMEONE TO SPEND ON A DRESS?
I FOUND A DRESS I ABSOLUTELY LOVE (ABOUT $125~ISH) AND SENT THE PARENTS AN EMAIL WITH SOME INFO/LINK/PICS/ETC AND GOT THE RESPONSE OF 'TRY LOOKING ON THIS WEBSITE INSTEAD, THE DRESSES START AT $28 HERE'
I GAVE THE WEBSITE A CHANCE AND LOOKED THROUGH THEM ALL AND THE DRESSES ARE COMPLETE CRAP!!!...IT IS MY OWN FAULT FOR OFFERING TO RECONSIDER MY CHOICE IN MY ORIGINAL EMAIL...I SHOULD HAVE BEEN A BRIDEZILLA AND JUST SAID THIS IS THE DRESS LOL ...NOW WHAT DO I DO!?!?

Re: FLOWER GIRL DRESSES
considering that the kid will never wear it again and likely outgrow it quickly, I would feel bad asking anyone to spend more than $50-100. Mine came out to $70 and I felt bad asking that.

Re: FLOWER GIRL DRESS DRAMA!!
We got ours at Kim's Childrenswear in Tri-County for $60. You can also check out Burlington - they have some adorable dresses. Remember, this little girl LITERALLY will only be wearing the dress one time.

IMO I think is too much money....is a dress they will never wear again. My FG only spent 70 dollars on their dresses.

IMO it is way too much money. They will never wear the dress again. I was struggling with the same thing, until I found this site:
It was recommended by a friend who was very picky about everything to do with her wedding. She even said the dress was amazing quality. You have time to order the dresses check them out and if you don't like them send them back. The dresses are such a good price. you can't go wrong.
I also heard Century 21 has really nice ones & Burlington Coat Factory. I would definitely use this site.
GOOD LUCK HTH

Re: FLOWER GIRL DRESS DRAMA!!
My FG dress was even more than that and both parents are also in our wedding. If you really want the dress, pay for it urself. Thats what we did although the parents didnt have a problem with buying it.

I still don't think $125 is unreasonable, mine were more than that. Yes, they'll wear them once, but what then justifies an expensive BM dress? I've never really seen anyone wear theirs again.

Re: FLOWER GIRL DRESS DRAMA!!
IMHO it is a lot to ask for a flower girl...they will NEVER wear them again bc they will outgrow them so fast (i also think it may be too early for you to order it from them now since kids grow). that being said, check out kohls, jc penny and burlington I got mine at flowergirldressforless.com here is what we picked for $53 and we just added a big flower pin to the sash fg dress

I'VE LOOKED AT ALL THESE WEBSITES!!!!!

Re: FLOWER GIRL DRESS DRAMA!!
You have to remember, its $125 x 2 plus shoes x 2. I'm having my niece and two nephews in my wedding party and couldn't imagine asking my sister to pay for 2 tux rentals and buy a FG dress and shoes for all 3. It adds up pretty quickly. I think you should look around for something cheaper otherwise pay for it yourself if its a must have.
-D
ETA: $125 isn't outrageous for 1 dress but they have to buy 2! And a BM only buys one dress as well, not two.

if you are willing to split it with them then i would def say go for it! I think most people except to pay $50 - $60 for a FG dress so if you split it in half then def do it!!!! BM expect to pay more...they are adults and can possibly wear the dress again but for a flower girl you are literally throwing that money away. my sister found a dress she loved for $125 and i told her NO! i couldnt justify her spending that on a dress so we got the $53 dress and everyone is happy
edit: can we see a pic of the dress you fell in love with so we can see if anyone knows of a similar dress that is less expensive?

Re: FLOWER GIRL DRESS DRAMA!!
I don't think $125 is outrageous for a FG dress. I liked dresses that were $200+. That said, I wouldn't ask the parents of my FGs to spend that much because really, they're 4 years old. I eneded up paying for my girls' dresses but they were $25 at JC Penny.
Also, my FG was just in another wedding an the mom was complaning that the dress was $100.

Re: FLOWER GIRL DRESS DRAMA!!
I'm sure the dress that you fell in love with is beautiful, but you need to take a step back and put yourself in their position. That is A LOT of money to spend on a dress that the little girls will probably only wear once. I don't even like spending that much money on a dress for myself sometimes and I know I will wear it more than once.
In the whole scheme of your wedding day, think about if the flower girl dress will really make or break your day. If not, maybe you can reconsider. JC Penney's has a bunch of great dresses. Maybe you can even try Estelle's Dresses?

ditto. will it really make or break your day?
BMs dresses can be 'costlier' but they are adults and (ideally) would have to capability to pay for it themselves. FGs cannot and it falls on their parents to pay for it. Offer to split it in half but do not be upset if they do not offer.
If your really dead-set on the dresses, why not pay for the whole thing then?

Re: FLOWER GIRL DRESS DRAMA!!
get the info of the dress and google it...my fg dresses were 150 and i found them for 80
also you have time the dress may become cheaper due to it being a 2011 style you dont have to order their dress until 4 mts before your wedding

Re: FLOWER GIRL DRESS DRAMA!!
I think $125 is a lot for a flower girl dress. Personally, I don't think the cost of a FG dress vs BM dress should be compared.
I just googled and came across this website. Mind you, I didn't actually sift through their dresses, but you might want to take a look.
