I'm upset. I love my flower girl (daughter of one of my MOH) and they are having a hard time getting someone to pick her up after being introduced at the reception. Now, here is the issue- other kids are in the party and I guess now we have to let them stay too...what are you doing?

Re: flower girl etc. at adults only reception
My flower girl and RB are just going to be at the church and then getting picked up by a babysitter. It is my SIL's idea. She wants to enjoy the party and not worry about her kids. My sister who will have a 1 month old by the time of my wedding is going to have a babysitter in the bridal suite at the RH so she can be close to the baby.

The only kids that are gonna be at the reception are a 7 year old (FG) and a 15 year old (junior BM)... I love them too much to exclude them. I think it's okay to have just kids in the bridal party there - as long as their parents don't mind.

The FG and RBs will be at the wedding. The only other children that will be at the wedding are family members who are flying in from Europe to be at the wedding.

Re: flower girl etc. at adults only reception
My best friend actually had a brilliant idea at her wedding. She had her little nephews in the bridal party but didn't want them running around during the reception. Her mom hired a babysitter to watch the boys in the bridal suite during the reception. It worked out really well. My brother and sister-in-law also didn't have a babysitter that night, so they brought my niece and she joined the boys in the bridal suite. It also allowed any parents to check up on them periodically during the night.
They all played well together and by the end of the night, all of them were fast asleep on the couch!

Just three or four kids is no big deal, the question is will it make you feel like the parents of the kids are an important part of the wedding and you dont want them babysitting?
My bff is having a baby right before the wedding, i kinda asked her not to bring the baby, just so she would be there for me, yet, I am inviting kids...
hmm...

Only the 2 kids in the BP (both 5 years old) will be staying other than that only family members kids (total of 3, all 8 -12).
So I would let them stay, the babysitter in the bridal suite is a great idea but I know my daughter definately would not go for that. If she heard music she would want to be partying with everyone else

My daughter wants to PARTAY! She will turn 5 the week after the wedding and her two besties are 4 and 6. They're the only kid guests and they have their own table for 3 with no alcohol, knives or candles! I'm making them activity books, got them wedding themed crayons and they will dance more than the adults. If they get tired or need a break we have a beautiful bridal suite with a queen size bed
