How long in advance am I suppossed to order flower girls dresses?

We just ordered my flower girl's dress 2 weeks ago. They say not to order them too far in advance because kids grow fast.

I made the mistake of having my FG order her dress in September. It was in two weeks later. So I would ask how long it takes and do it as close as you feel comfortable doing it to the wedding date as possible.

depends on the salon and the dressmaker.

They told me to wait until now and I am getting married in two months! Mine are 17 months and 2.5 years...so they are little!!

BM dresses, they say takes 4 months.
With the FG dresses, I ordered them from Davids Bridal, and they told us 8-12 weeks, so thats about the timeframe we did it in. . .
