Is there a certain age where being a flower girl isn't appropriate and you should be a junior brides maid? And if So what is the age? My Goddaughter will be 9 and I don't know what is best for her and even if she is too old for the typical puffy white flower girl dress.

Re: Flower Girls??
Omg I had the same issue!!! I have 2 girls who will be 10 at the time of our wedding... and when we went to discuss flowers with our vendor he said that at that age they are already getting old to play a flower girl.... so we decided to make them Junior Bridesmaids. We are even getting them a small bq to carry.

Re: Flower Girls??
I think its close but a 9 year old CAN get away with it. I was at a wedding and the FG was 8 and it seemed fine. It's really your decision....whatever you think it best. I think what also plays a role is whether or not she's tall for her age or small. If she's a tall girl it might look funny if she's in a FG dress.

Re: Flower Girls??
see i think it depends on each family- cause when I was 10 i was the flower girl in my cousins wedding cause i was the only youngest in the family.... But for my wedding i have 2 nieces who will be 9 and i'm making them Jr bridesmaids cause FH has a niece who is 2 so she will be the flowergirl....

Re: Flower Girls??
My two cousins will be 10 & 11 for my wedding and thought that they would be too old to be flower girls. So I have 2 junior bridesmaids and my flower girl will be a little over 2 for my wedding.

Re: Flower Girls??
my fg will be about 5 yo when we get married...I think you could get away with having a petite 9 year old as fg, but you may want to consider jbm instead

You can do it I think it is hard becuase it is older than avg fg but I think to young for a jr BM. Mine will be 8

i think 8 and under should be fine as a FG but any older i would make them a Junior Bridesmaid. My cousin will be 9 almost 10 at the time of my wedding so i am making her a jr. bm.

Re: Flower Girls??
most 'rule books' say that age 8 is the up to point for a FG... anything over should technically be a Junior BM.
Mine was 8 so I was able to just get away with it and her sister was 7. When I was a FG I was 8 as well.
It's up to you. If you have an older girl but she's small you may be able to get away with it for another year.

I am pretty much in the same situation, except my cousin will be 11 at the time of the wedding, so she will be a JBM
