Flower MIchele-High Price Quote!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went to Barbara at Flower Michele yesterday( drove all the way from NJ )

I am a little disappointed as I feel that the price that she gave us is a little too high.

She is giving us:

1 bride bk
1 maid of honor bk
10 high centerpieces ( nothing fancy ( roses, lilies, etc)
gazebo decoration for huppa ceremony
rose petals for place cards table
parents corsages ( 2Mom's, 2 Dad's)
aisle runner
basket for the flower girl
pillow for the ring boy
cake decoration
throw away bk

And it all costs $3k!! I thought we would come up with something less exp!!! I am only getting 10(!) centerpieces! I am not having any BM bk!!!!

What do you girls think??

I think the quote might be that high because of the gazebo flowers. I would price at least one more florist for the same flowers and then compare to see which is more expensive. Good luck!

The chuppah is the most expensive! Its about 1000 for that most places!

But for gazebo decoration price should be much lower than for huppa decoration, b/c for gazebo florist does not need to bring huppa itself

let's estimate 1k for the gazebo decoration, and subtract that from the rest of the bill.... 2k for the remaining flowers is still a bit high!!! I will say it's not completely out of the ballpark, though...

We are getting 8 low centerpieces (but with admitedly pricey flowers and in antique buckets), 18 pew decorations, my bo-k (all peonies), 2 BM bo-ks (matching centerpieces), and about 8 corsages and 8 boutenieres.....

since we selected a florist who is more expensive than the major vendors frequently discussed on this site, and we have the additional corsages and pew decorations, (without the gazebo flowers) your flowers (w/ high centerpieces) and mine (w/ low ones) should be about equal in cost....

Our $$ florist quote was 25% less than your quote (1500 vs 2k)!!!! I really think you can do better...

Try Flowers by Burtons they quoted me MUCH cheaper then Flower Michele, AND they are giving me the flowers I requested... Flower Michele were substituting my flowers and they still came in much higher.

Good Luck... you can def find cheaper.

I dont think its 2 high the design for the gazebo is probably 1000.

Not too expensive: really, these prices are higher than you expect: give other florists a try, but you can also ask what KIND of gazebo decoration they are doing & the breakdown of the prices.

Prices really depend on what you are getting.

Tulle is lovely & can be bright & shouldn't cost more than $100-150 with a couple of bunches of flowers. If you want bunches of flowers overhanging, it's more.

High centerpieces are pricey. This is where I spent all my $$.

Then ask what they can do (that you will be OK with) to cut the price DOWN.

Keep in mind also-other then your huppah you are having them do your RB pillow. Also, high CPs I think are more b/c you pay for the holders. THese all could be reasons that it is higher.
I would look around and see what kind of quotes you get otherwise before saying its high.

First of all i hope your not being charged for petals, and why don't you just buy your own flower girl basket, ring pillow and aisle runner......that is a lot of money!
